i think the better statement would be its not the same nederland.
I agree 100%...Nederland is not the same either, thanks to the leader of that program, BUT...The fact that Ozen no longer has the same championship swagger is more apparent...it's not an EMBARRASSING loss, but it's just not the same. You think PA Lincoln would EVER lose to Nederland? It just was not happening. That's how that program was built, and although it was not the same in the end, they still beat who they were EXPECTED to beat. I mean close games with PNG?? That's not suppose to happen at Ozen, but it's just not the same Ozen.

I remember back in the day when PA Lincoln was beat by PNG  :o

So how many chances should one get before they deal with the consequences? Wow!!!
Sounds like it depends. If you are moving TO Nederland then you get as many as you need. If you are moving FROM Nederland then it's time to "deal with the consequences".

Glad you're home dup. Go proof all the haters wrong.
No hater here. I'm glad he is out of Nederland, believe me. I just think you have to hold people accountable for their actions and not allow them to run from the things they have done wrong. That is how you learn from your mistakes correct? Anyways enough about that, I believe our Nederland baseball program is stacked with talent and will play well this season. Good luck!!!

This is off topic but what happened between Lumberton and Ned the other day? Did Lumberton really stomp Ned by 25-30 points? Is Lumberton really that good this year or did Ned have a very bad game against them? Just wondering....

    That was in girls basketball.

I dont remember it getting this stupid with the threads though
and the reason: one word = Vidor :o
What's funny to me is that the people from Vidor haven't started all these crazy threads to begin with.  ::)

I guess you are right, but it seems like the Vidorians always end up taking over all these crazy threads.
  5. Well being that Nederland is the underdog, they should have no pressure on them. It should all rest on the shoulders of BH. I hope our boys play like they are capable of playing and show up for the new season of the playoffs. With the game being played in Nederland and Brown on the Hill, I take the dogs in this one. Nedeland's boys step up big and play as a team in this one. Go Dogs!!!

Its obvious I'm an Ozen fan but this win doesn't at all impress me...Nederland? Come on I remember when I played Nederland wasn't even supposed to be in the same gym with us. To be honest only reason Ozen's still in the playoffs is because they finished third in their district and got an easy side of the bracket. It's no excuse for Ozen to be finishing 3rd in a weak district is inexcusable GET SAVEAT OUTTA THERE PLAIN AND SIMPLE. But on another note congrats fellows.
well the past few years Nederland has improved and shown that they more than deserve to be in the same gym as you. And that is what irritates you and others on this board. By the way, love screen name ozensfinest!!!
  7. No threats were made due to not getting the coach's way. I believe the coach was compromising so the KID would be allowed to play league baseball. Based on certain childish people's reaction and the way the matter was handled, he decided for himself and his own kid's that is was best to resign as a coach. As far as other kids leaving the league, I think that pretty much speaks for itself.
  8. I love what is happening with the Nederland Basketball program. We are starting to build a good basketball program and starting to play some solid basketball. We are competing and beating some very good teams. I also love how it sturs up and irritates some of those people who are associated with the teams that WERE used to beating Nederland all the time. But in saying that, I think we are still a bit overmatched when it comes to the top tier programs in the state.
  9. I agree with Basebow on this one. Both Select and League ball can be a good experience, you just need a coach that knows what he is teaching. My opinion is that some parents are what is hurting League ball. I know that NNLL could be much better if the league as a whole would embrace their kids playing both instead of bashing those who play select. I also think a couple that are in certain positions should make the best decisions possible for the league based on the good for all players and not just their own. BCLL does a great job of balancing league and select to allow kids to do both.
  10. Texas Roughrider 8U Baseball team is looking for one player to complete their roster. We are looking for a competitive player with a good attitude to add to our team. We are a team full of talented and respectful kids along with great parents. Looking for the right fit for our team. If you are interested or have any questions you can call Kevin @ (409)718-6147.
