1. Why would you do "straight conditioning" when you can involve conditioing with skill work? You get more effort out of the kids when you involve some skill work with the running.
2. who would you put at quaterback? Middleton(2)? Make him go both ways as QB? or take him out of the secondary and make it even weaker than it already is? Morrisey is the only guy for that QB spot. He's gonna be fine. And I dont think this is on the coaches, the talent just really isn't there....and if it is, it's very very young.
3. Ahh yes, blame it on the coaches now. It couldn't be that jasper is young and just low on talent right now, right?
4. Well, there are two options that would probably be a better fit for the offense. Scott Middleton, and Karrion Morrisey. More than likely, Middleton. He's just a more physical guy than bolton, and a lot bigger, not knocking tyler, just Middleton is probably the better fit.
5.
I definetely agree that they will be competitive. Is Tyler Bolton going to be QB? Thats what I keep hearing.
Nope, won't be playing quaterback.
6.
wasnt at the games..only got the updates and didnt watch the webcast...did bridge city not hit the ball at all in both games...how many hits did they have in both games.....looks like jasper still has thier number..always have and probably always will...
Both teams hit the ball pretty evenly the second game, just the top of the seventh killed BC. But kudos to them for not giving up more than two runs in that inning.
7. He's a special player, and game one was definetly a very rare occasion. That being said, I think you have to go with Ty Parker for the series MVP, he showed up at the plate every game.
8.
Not really any gates in woodville. It is pretty easy to get access to the field. I hope nobody gets their and moves chairs. Kind of like calling shotgun too early.
Jasper fans are pretty experienced, we chain them to the fence.
9.
Its a little early to throw this coaches name in with those already mentioned but I have to give some credit to Mike Bickham of Jasper. He is really turning the program around for the better and now Jasper is even MORE competitive. Jasper usually is a team that when they are down they give up but this past year Jasper played ball to the very end and the defense was solid. Just got to get that offense rolling a little more but I'm excited to see what Coach Bickham does. Go Dogs.
It is a little early to be throwing him in there with Alvarez and Hooks (btw Hooks is my choice) but he has done a great job with the kids there. Last year they didnt just have any amazing spectacular athletes, but he implemented a system that played to their strengths and it obviously worked pretty well. A couple of more years, and a few playoff runs and he can definetly be considered.
10. Scan the field? Actually no I dont know what you mean. Scan the field in my opinion would be a quaterback that is able to scan the field and find the open reciever.
11.
The year Jasper won sate their ace didn't even pitch at the state tournament.  I don't know that they have the depth on this club that was on that one, but they do have 3 or 4 quality pitchers now.
Depth yes, as good of quality of depth no. Alvis was impressive against Crockett and Burleson is also pretty solid. And going back to the "out of control" statement about sowell, I think that is a little justifiable, he wasnt hitting his spots, but you can bet that wont happen much. Sowell is good.
12. Wildcat.....every play to Ford haha
13. The last three games the dogs have played a little sloppy, I agree. But I can't complain because a playoff win, is a playoff win. That said, I have no doubt that the dogs can clean it up and be the great team that they are capable of. The top of the lineup is stacked, the pitching is pretty deep, and the fielding is pretty good as well. Jasper will close this out tomorrow night, and move on to the next round. Go dogs!
14. I'm ready to see what jaspers got against a worth advisary.
15. Yea, yates was down by like 6 at one point to lancaster and then wildly proceeded to score 20 points in the last two minutes haha. Yates and bush would beat the Uconn girls, but the other teams couldnt beat em.
16.

Come on... There is a HUGE difference between the boys and the ladies. Just look at the Griner girl @ Baylor. She gets how many blocks a game just because she can get up near/above 10'. Every state champ has multiple kids who can play above the rim(4a/5a probably all of them) and run the floor too. I agree the Uconn coach could put his girls in positions to score some points, but they would lose to every state champ. Now could they beat many boys teams? yes. State champs, NO!!
1a teams with alot of players playing above the rim? I dont think so. Theres a difference between being able to dunk and playing above the rim. Lebron plays above the rim, the kids in the dunk contest the other night play above the rim. NONE of the state champions have multiple guys who can play like that. You dont think the women can run the floor? They score like 90 points a game. Starting five for UCONN Maya Moore 6' Tina Charles 6'4 Tiffany Hayes 5'10 Caroline Doty 5'10 Kalana Green 5'10 Two bench players 6'2 or taller Lubbock Estacado 5 leading Scorers Kevin Wagner 5'8 Clarence Willard 6'2 Ti Russel 6'3 Ryheim Hunter n/a Barry Johnson 5'10 Looks to me they match up pretty well
you take two fairly evenly sized teams, and give one of those teams a HUGE advantage in atheticism, speed, rebounding, and strength, and they're going to be the favorite to win.  Sure UCONN will have the better coach, but they wouldn't be able to hang with a really good HS boys' team.
People were saying this last year about new waverly and ponder, Ponder was NOWHERE near as athletic as nw, didnt have the same size, and couldnt run out of sight, or jump up on a curb.......But what was the outcome of that game?
17. Uconn is so sound, Yes the boys teams would be Faster, stronger etc. But Uconn's fundamentals and even they have some size, and skill would beat every team at state except yates and Bush. It would be like Ponder beating a MUCH more athletic New waverly team in the 09 state tourney.
18. Yates, Bush, and MAYBE estacado would beat them. 2a and 1a wouldnt stand a chance against them.
19. Ya know correct me if I'm wrong (which i know no one on this site will have a problem with correcting  :D) but I thought there was a lot more handchecking this year. I dont know, it just seemed to be not called as much. Just an observation though.
20. Sowell is a beast, Top of the 7th Three errors and the bases were loaded and he goes and gets the next three out like it was nothing.
