1. I had posted this on the Nederland thread and also wanted to post it here also...You know i have been watching High School Football in this area since the early 70's and what has happened recently to the local teams is it seems like we have great defenses, but when we get to the 3rd and 4th round of the playoffs the offenses just cannot carry their share of the load.  Whether it is schematic or types of offense's being ran, they just do not match up against the teams that they face in the later rounds.  This happened to WO-S and it happened To Nederland, the offense's imploded with turnovers, therefore keeping their defense's on the field to long and eventually wearing down.  I saw a very dominant team in Navasota last night, with one of the best offense's I've seen in a long time.  Not taking anything away from WO-S's defense, but the QB from Navasota was very good, and it would have taken a mistake free game by the offense to even stay close. It seems like Nederland ran into the same type of buzzsaw today...Congrats to both WO-S and Nederland on great seasons and you have nothing to hang your head about...and to Navasota and Georgetown I hope ya'll bring the hardware back to Region III.

3. CBMurphy11...that was the most realistic post that I have read on here.  I just don't believe you disrespect your opponent like both sides have done on this forum.  I believe it will come down to who makes the least amount of mistakes.  If Navasota wins they will have a least one more WO-S supporter backing them to a State Championship.  Good luck to both teams and stay injury free.  But like you I am pulling for my team to win.  Lets go Stangs!!!  Leave it all out on the field!!!! [move]Lets Go Mustangs!!!  Play This Game Like It Is Your Last...With No Regrets[/move]
4. Good job Skipper!  Your reverse psychology has been working.  You know the Chaingang 1st priority is stopping the run.  If WC can run on the stangs consistently and score then they deserve to win...just don't see it happening...IMHO
5. Was a running clock the whole 2nd half.  14 total yards...3 in 1st half...11 in 2nd half...-3 yards passing for the game...4 1st downs...3 by penalty and 1 by their offense.  Total domination.  You can only play who they put in front of you.
6. Remarks from the Austin American-Statesman newspaper.  Quote "We've got Coldspring, we've got some blood in our mouths," Wimberley junior Reed Jones said. "This is a big win. We're going to be pumped, ready to go for next week. We're going to get it done." Unquote.  A little Bulletin Board fodder.
7. A "lobo" is a LONE WOLF..Not a pack of wolves..do a little research.  lol
8. We stopped everything else BR had. But when Williams ran the ball he wasn't for the most part being touched till he was in our secondary and then it is a mismatch, 205lbs at full speed against  160-170 pounders and that is a mismatch. I feel oustside of the turnovers, we lost the battle in the trenches.  I've never feared us playing bigger teams, but when they are bigger and as athletic as we are, those are the teams that give us problems.  Make no mistake BR did not win this game with smoke and mirrors they are a team to be reckoned with, but I do believe if Kville plays a solid mistake free game I think they will come out on top, because not only do they have the running game, but also the passing game to do damage.  Kville's QB I believe will have a big say in who wins this game.  Learn from WO-S's mistakes and you will be successful...GO Wildcats Orange County is behind you...REPRESENT!!!!!!
9.

what happened after the game?
In the middle of the field for all of the world to see, while the rest of the team was going thru the line to shake hands - a WOS player thought he would chase down the refs and yell his thoughts at them. The WOS coaches and police quickly got him out of there and the refs left the field. Terrible show of sportsmanship, I have never seen it before and I am sure he is in for a lot of running.
I don't know what you were watching, but what I saw was an assistant coach trail  after a ref and he was collared by his father, not naming names here. The coach was pretty irate. I did not see any kids do anything of which you are descibing and I was at the game
10. Forgot about probably the best QB from Stark, David Foster.  Chachie Owens, Dan Sears, & Allen Eads. The Coaches in the early 70's were Dexter Bassinger and Neal Morgan.  And who can forget where Wade Phillips started his coaching career at...Stark High School.  A few more Joey Robbins, Ronnie Garrison(who recently passed away), and the Teate brothers(Danny & Donald).  Oh Yeah and Sammy could throw a football the length of the football field(lol). Just Funnin' with you Sammy.  Mike "Pop" Schrieber here Sammy.
11. Hey Hoop, I'm living in Arizona now. Is there anyway I could get one sent to me. I would gladly pay the postage. I need to have my SE Texas football fix. Football here is not as good as Texas football, so I don't even bother going.
12. Needing directions to H-F Baseball Field from Bridge City.
13. How about old Stark High School, Which was one of the dominant teams in the late 60's and 70's. Doug Patterson, Dennis Duhon, Tom Ball, Bruce Taylor, Burt Fare, Mike Schrieber, Jody Mazzola, and Grant Gipson to name a few.
14. Hey Thanks a lot, wish I could come back and pitch for you(lol). But it sure brings back memories of the good ole days. As my daughter would say you are just reminiscing about "Back in the Day".
