How did Lee get put in this convo and David Green has to be somewhere in there.
The thread started out by just naming current coaches but DV wanted people to name "all time" coaches and it went from there.
Yeah thats right, blame ole DV! Now I know how President Obama feels!  ;D ;D....
I was just curious as to who you guys thought were the area's all time best...I KNOW who they are, just wanted to get some other opinions.... ::) ::) ;D ;D

I have already agreed to a list previously posted on this thread.

I have a couple of honorable mentions I could add, but you just wanted top 5.

Coach Culley was one of a kind.
Those were some fun bus rides on the yellow dog when Culley was the coach, isn't that right AAW? ;) :D

I would add him to the list and make it a top 6 list.
He deserves to be on that list.

He won state titles in basketball and baseball.
Probably the best baseball coach Silsbee has ever had as well.

I have always had a problem with this topic.  I'm not saying that all of the coaches listed are not great coaches....they all have proven track records, experience, resume's...etc.

But what truly makes a good coach?  If someone truly is the "best" coach...then why don't they win a title every year?  Why don't they win every game?  Aren't they in a position every game to "out coach" the opposing coach?

You cannot tell me that a coach that has won a championship is a better coach than all coaches that have not won a championship.
