I think this game will be closer than everyone thinks... Both teams like to hang on to the ball and control the clock.
Ned is good, but I dont think they are what everyone thinks, they were not contested last week.  they played a Crosby team that was not ready: new coachs, new style, new line. The Off were not ready for the stunts that the Ned D line gave them and the qb seemed flustered.  When they get some experience Crosby will come around.
I dont think Ned Off is that good.  Crosby's D did not play bad, Ned really had one really good drive. the rest of the points was when the Off had really good starting positions,  (27, 42). that is why Ned went up so quick.  Ned did not score the second half when their starting field pos was on their side of the field. I dont see Nederland putting up alot of points... if GCM can keep starting points on their side of the field...IMO
GCM - 21
Ned  -14
Well, they were on Crosby's 7 at the end of the game , and chose not to punch it in.  Also went for a couple of 4th downs to burn clock rather than punt it away.  They went pretty conservative after in the second half after being up 21-0 at half time.
really?? they only went for 1- 4th down and were stopped, the rest were quick punts.  to say they were not trying to score the whole second half is crazy.  they were only up 14 in the third, and any team with athletes can score quick. and I am sure your coaches knew that. Yes ran the ball more the 2nd half, to hold on to the ball and run the clock, but still threw. (8 plays in the 3rd, 3 of 8 were passes.) but that is Nederlands game. they might of put up another at the end of the game, but no need to. by the way the game ended on the 12 not the 7.  I just don't think Nederland can score at will. I think they need good starting positions.  I dont think they will put up a bunch of points.... JMO... Everyone on this site talks about the D. not the O. and for good reason.. D will win them games..

I think this game comes to field position.  GCM has a great back, and have been in the same O for a while.  they control the ball. just like nederland.... I dont see this game being a blow out like everyone predicts...  I see this game being very close
It was not 14-0 in the 3rd of the Crosby game...Nederland scored on each of their first 3 possessions and it was 21-0 early in the 2nd quarter...this game was ever in doubt and never close

I could have missed something but i don't think i saw a defensive stunt all night. Just straight up rush the QB. How many other teams had 8 sackes by their DE's last week?
they did not have 8 sacks... they had 6 as a team, 2 were stunts, and the DE did not get all of them..
All I know is what they list in the paper, Koby had 10 tackles - two for loses and 3 sacks. De Shawn was listed as 5 sacks.

But even if you are correct, tell me how many other teams had 6 (as you say) sacks on week zero!

Only one team played Crosby, so I'd say none.

You're right....all we heard about Crosby was twins left, twin right, twins up the middle, twins this, twins that.....after the game only one team was seeing double and it wasn't Nederland.

I'd say that if I lined on the side with Washington or Couron, I'd be running for my life!!!!  I don't even have to mention Malveaux or Pryor because who'd be so dumb as to run against those guys.

I see trouble for any offense facing these guys.

Every week is a test and these guys are passing with flying colors.

I'm confused, are the Dog's playing GCM or Dayton this week.
Yes, we are always playing Dayton in fb and BH in baseball.  It seems like that's all they talk about.

These guys LIVE for their chance to Play Nederland.  I really don't what the fascination is with us, really, I kinda wonder is it that dry in the Baytown/Houston area that you have to go finding a worthy opponent in SE Texas.

Note: We already have our rival in PNG and many other worthy opponents to play here in SE TEXAS, we don't have to go searching for a team like they do.

We have PNG, Vidor, Ozen, Central, LCM and those guys always are ready to play!

I kinda feel sorry for Dayton and BH, it must be lonely on their side of the street.

Earl Campbell twins would not be successful with Crosby's o-line.
i dont think dayton considers ned a rivalry. Just pokin fun at your fans. When ned left dayton the world was coming to an end. Now ned beats a below average crosby team and their the best defense in the state.

IMO, people put a lot weight into how good the Walter twins are but forget how much Crosby lost last year to graduation and that they have a new coach. Two junior football players don't equal a good football team.

After meeting those two young men outside of athletics (UIL Accounting event) it's hard to root against them. First class STUDENT athletes.

Broncopride.....the fact that you are posting on any thread about Nederland says everything.  Case in point.

I don't consider Dayton a  rival, threat, powerhouse, anything really.  It's just a town off of I-10 that I never exit off for, and that would go as well for your rival a few miles away.

FYI .... We do play GCM this week.

Go Dogs!
The world coming to an end was not so for those who understand Nederland football, a scrimmage game, "come on man", really. I will say this about Nederlands front 4 on defense, it would be hard to find 4 players in 4A football that make up a defensive front like the four at Nederland. Also, the linebackers are very sound and go get the ball well. Secondary is still a question mark. With that I'd say Nederland has one of the better defenses in 4A football. All Nederland has to do it put a few points on the board and they will win. Few is all it will take...This defense is really fun to watch!

From watching the video I have to say crosbys o-line made nederlands defense look really good...probably better than what they really are...jmho
If I were pulling for PNG this year that is how I would have looked at the video too. Shame what reality will bring once it hits....Enjoy the video, watching it live is really painful!!! lol

    • Where were the 8 Omaha teams in D1's preseason top 25 poll... 2. Florida 8. A&M 9. Tennessee 13. N.C.State 14. Virginia 15. North Carolina Kentucky - unranked Florida State - unranked
    • That TDS is really flaring. Now do Biden. You have way, way, way more material. And keep that bitter "you are better than me" jealousy tone you have with Trump. You know Biden, the one you want everyone to vote for instead of Trump. Somehow you didn't acknowledge my pleas for you to die a painful death. I was quite certain that is how you would have interpreted my previous post. I guess when your focus is Trump 24/7, nothing else matters.
    • I have a better one. The point that nobody wants to acknowledge is that Dems are crossing over to vote Trump in the primaries and in the general so he will win the presidency. That way Trump will get the blame when the Dems implement their sinister plan to deport all of the minorities in the country. They have already laid the groundwork...convincing everyone that Trump and Republicans are racist (without providing any proof). Then it will be just a matter of time to execute their White supremacy plan of the great purge of the dirty, unwashed, heathen, non-Whites that roam freely in this country. I think my theory is more viable than your theory. Maybe we can get some other ridiculous scenarios so we can start a poll.
    • But that’s what Trump’s fanboys don’t understand.  When he talked about sexually assaulting women, y’all laughed it off as “locker room talk.”  When it was proven that he raped E. Jean Carroll, you cried that it was all an injustice… a lie. Even though he’d already confessed to doing the same thing to other women.  John McCain has suffered and sacrificed more for his country than practically anybody, except possible gold star families… and Trump called him a loser or something to that effect. “Oh, it was a joke that no one was supposed to take seriously.” But when Trump, after disrespecting the sacrifices of one of our most valiant, y’all are like “just because Trump didn’t go to Omaha Beach doesn’t mean he isn’t pro military!” Really? All you have to do is listen to what he said about McCain’s service. Not McCain as an opponent, not McCain’s political views… about the fact that the man was tortured, probably raped, and who knows what all else for over five years for swearing an oath and putting on the uniform.  But all of y’all supposedly “pro military” people just laughed along with Trump. “Good one, Sir! Maverick my new-hind! Filthy Rino!”  I don’t understand how the same people (y’all) who probably always say “thank you for your service” to any veteran still support a guy who craps on the ones who suffered the most on our behalf.  It’s baffling.
