Top 3 Running backs in Vidor's history...

This isn't just for Vidor fans to comment on. In all the years you have watched Vidor fans or not who, IYO, was the top 3 running backs.

Mine would be:
Brad Croak
Theron Rynols (sp)
and Brentyn Clark

These are three good RBs from the last 10 yrs but we have had a lot of strong running backs in the history of Pirate football... Rick Culbert was awesome and I heard Hagler was a beast.

Well in all honesty i wasn't a follower of the pirates in those days. And Culbert was a QB. Obainion was the RB that year. And i didn't even know dr tim hagler was a RB at vidor. Shows just much how i know.  8)

Culbert played  RB/ WR/ and a little QB his SR yr...Andy Haequist (check spelling) got the majority of the snaps at QB...However Culbert led the team in Passing yds/ Rushing yds/ Receiving yds his Sr year and was Offensive MVP of the district.... He also played a heck of a DB on the other side of the ball.  His Jr. Year his was primarily RB with Browning playing QB

I have some old footage; it’s all in my mind.  I can remember him just crushing the opponent defenses.  In my opinion, Hagler is the best RB in the last 30 years at Vidor.  Like WOSgrad said calling him a BEAST is an understatement.

Don Minton from the 1964 playoff team was as good as Vidor has ever had. Ken Faul from the 1977 team was also a beast. The running back from Vidor's district champion 1978 team, Bryant Harris, was most of the team's offense that year. Three yards and a cloud of dust. Two things we usually have; a good offensive line and a good running back.
