I think you're trying to motivate those Hawks, Dove. We all know that HJ has the 'Arsenal' to beat Nederland or they would not be ranked ahead of Nederland in 'The Dirty Dozen'. I'm obviously pulling for Nederland, but i believe these teams are evenly matched. It will be a great experience for both teams to play in a semi-high pressured game this early in the season in preperation for the remainder of their seasons.

Now then Nederland will be a very good team this year. As a 1987 graduate I would like to express wishes for an excellent season to the players and to fellow classmate Coach English. All I can say is you've got them worried over there in 20-4a. I saw all kinds of scouting going on tonight.

Dogs will have a very good season.  It's too early to classify them as less than good and too early to brand the Hawks as world beaters.  Both teams will hope to improve as the season progresses.  Last year, the Hawks didnt look good at all early on and yet made it to the regional tourney- so we all had better reserve judgement

No need to wait Dove - you know you are going to pick HJ to win.  This way if you are right you look like Jimmy the Greek and can rub it Nederland's face that they lost but if you're wrong you can still fall back on the fact that HJ plays a weak schedule and is overrated.

Dove- I know you know your basketball but you have to be kidding to suggest that altering the position of one player could change a game by 30+ points?  Come on, now.  That is no different that stating that our current President has a good understanding of how business and our economy works.

HJ has a pretty nice blend of urban/suburban thus proving there is a place for both on the basketball court in high school basketball.  Special congrats to Mr. Bosha who exercised a lot of patience and showed much maturity for a sophomore by NEVER forcing a shot or pass.  Every decision he made was a good one and he was quite productive in the second half of the game.  Also don't remember him having a single turnover which, in itself, has some meaningful point value.
