If football is making that much money for the school, maybe my taxes could down a little, and all that money goes where, buying new stuff for the athletic departments.

All the money spent hiring assisant coaches, instead of qualified teachers and that $350,000 is way short of 16-18 coaches salaries.

Who is keeping track of all this money, and where it is going, seems like Dayton had a big scandal about 10 years back.

I think we had football back when we were #1 in education as well? So it must be something other than football.

You do know that to get hired as a coach in Texas you have to be a qualified teacher. The coaches on staff are all "qualified" teachers. You must be thinkign about Ohio, Pennsylvania, or Florida where they let anyone coach. Also, a small portion of an assistant coach's salary is for coaching a sport or two sports, depending where you coach. Your tax dollars are going where there supposed to be going.
