It's just like most polls it's opinion, based on a combination of previous wins and losses, strength of schedule, team reputation, team respect, and of course there's some bias in there too. I'm not sure who all votes but it just a poll.
Are maybe they just they have Jethro Bodeen do some sife-ren........ ;D

If i'm bridge city or jasper i'm asking what the hell is going on?

If im Liberty i'm asking what people are smoking? what does it take to get respect? 3-0 40 on the board each game and 2 shut outs a total on 7 points in 3 games. including 49-0 over hardin.

Also the ase for Crosby over those two teams is easy to make. we beat #9 in the poll and lost to two of the best teams in all of 4a. One that pounded spring (big time 5a team) and the other is walking over everyone they face (including five a teams).

These rankings are getting as bad as DCTF.

Well I am one of the pollsters and I can tell you that I look at records, who beat who, strength of schedule and factors that are on the field.... I have not placed a team in the poll or left them out of the poll based on name recognition....

There are teams I feel should be included who are not, and there are teams we have ranked that maybe should not be....

It's like college football, you will always have questions about who voted for who, and why that team got ranked higher than so and so....

Dawson 3-0 played Clear Springs 5A who is 0-3, Oak Ridge 5A who is 0-3, and Crosby who is 1-2
Montgomery 3-0 played Spring 5A who is 1-2, Jones 4A who is 0-3, and Crosby who is 1-2

They are good, but not the two best 4A teams in Texas. Actually the AP Poll has them at #12 and #14.
Spring your great 5A team is 1-2, losing to Montgomery, Morton Ranch, and barely beating a weak Conroe team.

I do think Crosby and Liberty should be higher, but the other comments are not very accurate. 8)

Bud, i'm just saying if you have an 0-2 WOS who lost to nederland/friendswood over a 1-2 team who beat PNG and lost to Dawson/Montgomery... how do you choose the 0-2 team? Also The liberty issue is ridiculous. i'd be ok with central 15 wos out of the poll and liberty at 13/14 that to me would make some sense, if you not impressed with c-town thats fine but wos does NOT deserve to even be discussed as a ranked team no wins = no rank thats pretty simple math.

p.s. Dawson is ranked 10 in the state by DCTF and AP

Montgomery is top 15 dctf and honorable mention on ap polls.

And... i believe being a top 15 team in the state makes you "one of the best teams in the state"

      I liked his no bull crap attitude. He was a man of very few words. Extremely strong and freaky athletic!!! As close as possible to being the best offensive lineman to ever play the game. I hope his family finds peace without him!!! RIP #73

      Chester, a small town in NE Tyler County.  A town that is seeing growth with the addition of a national chain store and a new school being built.  If you travel 287 toward Dallas from the Golden Triangle you have probably passed through Chester.  Things tend to stay pretty consistent and it is your typical small town.   A trip to state is the buzz around town, and the talk before church services begin on Sunday.  This year’s graduating class will number 11.  We don’t have a radio station that covers the Yellowjackets.  We are never a lead story on any of the news stations that broadcast to our community. With all that said, there is a closeness and sense of pride in our community.  Every community rallies behind their kids as they progress into the playoffs.  We are proud of our boys as they have represented our community well and with class. We invite you to follow our boys as they go to state.  We welcome the greater SETX communities as honorary Yellowjackets.  Tune in, watch live or come to Round Rock personally and join us in supporting the Chester Yellowjackets.  Go ‘Jackets!!! ⚾️💜💛⚾️🟣🟡⚾️💜💛⚾️
