LU Ladies vs. Central Arkansas Updates/Ladies Lose........

Recommended Posts

This team nearly lost in the first round to NWST, should be playing for a shot at NCAA Title. In women's hoops, that's the tourney that matters.

They have been playing under par the last few weeks....How many times last year did they have problems beating teams three times? They beat UTA 3 times last year (which is the only team they played 3 teams tho).

Wrong time for bad play, but it's basketball. Hope Tidwell sticks around as coach for another season and gets 1 more recruiting class in before turning it over to Wells.

This team has been playing awful for the past few weeks. I put the blame on Tidwell. It is becoming clear he can't do both jobs.
Time to find a new WBB coach. I'm not sold on Wells. He should have stepped up when Tidwell started slipping.

UNLV, this is why some people have problems with your post. No, they have not played awful. They lost to McNeese in Lake Charles in the last 3 seconds of the game. Coach Tidwell hasn't made a shot, got a rebound or made an assist. It's on the players to do those things and he has to motivate them and use the right schemes and play the right players.

Then Joey Wells is mainly over defense and they played good enough defense to win as they held Meagan Herbert the SLC POY to well below her season average for points and rebounds. Heck her team won and she is crying on the bench.

I'm a huge Jenna Plumley fan and think she is one of the best players to ever wear a Cardinal uniform but she was off her game as 1. her shots weren't falling 2. she was turning the ball over 3. she fouled out.

Kalis Loyd only scored 10 points and she is the best athlete on the team and if she doen't turn pro early will be one of the best players in Cardinal history.

Tray Smith missed at least 4-5 shots that were basically layups.

The team shot the ball under 35% and UCA shot a heck of a lot more FT but some of that was due to Lamar fouling at the end to prolong the game and hopefully UCA would choke at the line and the Cardinals could get back in the game.

Would you rather have a team like they were pre Tidwell days? Not me, and I hope he stays coaching the WBB next year. Probably won't happen and we'll probably get Wells and I hope he is ready to take over and not lose the progress of the WBB program under Coach Tidwell.

I don't care what you all think. None of you comes close to my IQ. This is the SLC. Lamar should have
won today by double digits. LU is the champions with their best 2 players returnig. No one in the weak sorry
SLC should have beaten Lamar. Tidwell is out as coach. PS. I don't expect you to admit you were wrong when it
happens. Just do as usual, attack me to save face.

UNLV, I look forward to most of your post. However, you sound a little Narcissistic with your last comments.

Should Lamar have won the game today. Yes, we have better coaching and two first team All-SLC players with one being last season's POY. Then we have the Newcomer of the Year and a third team All-SLC player. However, for some reason we didn't play well today offensively.

We shot 37% from the field, were 3-19 from 3 pt range and only took 6 FT's the whole game.

The team was won 25 games this year and there is still a chance Lamar plays in a post season tournament. I guess bad coaching got the team to this point?

[/quote]We haven't play well for weeks. The LU team in January would have destroyed UCA today. IMO, I think Tidwell was distracted
with WAC plans and the possibility of firing his friend Roc. As much as I love Tidwell as LU coach, he can't be both coach and AD. Today proved that.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
