Thoughts on the baseball season so far?

Nederland is pretty good.

PN-G looks pretty good! Pitching staff is a lot deeper than people think and there is a lot of strong hitters!

While we are still doing ok, and have lost to only quality 5A teams, (except Bryan Rudder) I would say that we are slightly underachieving.  Our offense has struggled this year, and that's been a big part of the problem.  Maybe it's because the bar is set so high for baseball in Brenham.  Whatever the reason, I do believe we will hit our stride soon. (especially with a district game already, on Tuesday)

Buna has suprised me this season.  I knew they would compete in district but it looks like after losing their first 2 games they have found their stide winning 6 straight.  1 lose by 3A and other by 4A, wins against 3A 4A and 5A teams

thoughts on other teams- png and ned are both gonna be great, wish i could watch both of those games when district rolls around...lcm gonna be close behind those two and ready for an upset if they have an off game...vidor, lumberton and livingston are gonna be in a battle for that fourth spot with every game being close and vital....saw ozen this weekend, and those guys are getting better..not up with the rest yet, but working hard and improving....GCM- when they hit and you don't, they will kick your butt lol..Coldspring-pretty solid team, could give Huffman a run if they play clean..

Nederland overall is the best I have seen this year. Solid contender for a run to Austin. Understand they have more coming after basketball.  Very impressive.

Although the record tells a different story BC is doing just fine.  BC has played larger schools so far.  It will make them better when District starts. IMO....BC having 4 of their 5 loses against PNG, NED, and LCM is not bad considering they're the elite 4a teams in the area.

West Orange-Stark - disappointing.  I knew they wouldn't have a sparkling record at this point, but I expected them to be a little closer to .500 at this point.

Just remember it doesn't count until district....... And, playing bigger schools will pay off.

typical jasper team hard nosed and well coached young this year with only 2 starting seniors but jasper will be a tough playoff opponent.

This is gonna be an outstanding year .... now a toss up between png and lcm, nederland close ,  i figure when they play head up, the one that makes the least mistakes win..... because talent wise from what I have seen evenly matched...  I just hope for all these young men to have an injury free season ...

Silsbee has had a complete turn around from last year. They are making a statement in 21-3A that they are coming for the top spot and not taking anything less.
