1.
Yes I agree with you that Cody quit!! I feel he quit because he was a contributor to the team but was being passed over by backs who were getting scholarships and IMO are not as good as he is. I would also say that if he were giving what he deserved (any type of scholarship, financial assistance) he would still be on the team. This is just my opinion of course. Now with these guys coming into LU and getting scholarships some being equal and some not as good of RBs and Hussey is STILL being passed over why stay? If you attended either of the scrimmages prior to the season you would see Hussey was running the ball well!! Then to just be pushed to 4th string?? He deserves more than that!! I am not defending him just because he went to my Alma Mater. I am saying this because its the TRUTH!!! But evidently he wasnt shaking the right peoples hands!!!   Anyway this is all I have to say about the situation. I honestly do not think he was treated but, but then again life isn't fair sometimes!! He is a tough kid and I am sure if he puts forth the same effort he did at LU he will have a fulfilling life ahead of him!! I am OUT!! RAIDER88!!!
I believe everything you wrote because you used all upper-case letters for the TRUTH and used three exclamation marks at the end of the sentence.

 3.
Walker will be fine. Everybody just take a step back and look at the overall Nederland picture. We aren't capable of having multiple, specialized coaches that only coach one thing. Most of the time our coaches are required to also be teachers in roles that need to be filled. More importantly, Walker is teaching in the science department to fill an open teaching position. Walker is not a football coach. Walker played baseball at Nederland and Lamar. He is however filling an assistant freshman football coaching position. If it were up to Neumann he would hire strictly to fulfill a coaching position with the best coaching candidate available. That's simply not the case. Its almost a puzzle. Teaching roles are open, assistant coaching positions are open, head coaching positions are open, teaching certificates are required for the teaching roles at different levels, etc. Putting all that together has to result in what's best for our school district to minimize excess personnel. Bottom line is there is more to factor in than coaching credentials. Coach English is an excellent coach because he's a leader. Walker is no more qualified to coach football than he is basketball and I can bet that Coach English will do a fine job in molding Walker into the assistant he needs. I think its sad yall would be willing to storm the school board meeting because an assistant basketball, football, baseball, coach and science teacher didn't meet your approval yet we sit back and watch our facilities deteriorate, teacher's pay freeze, and on the brink of having to cut teachers from our schools. If yall want to go to the school board and complain then I say we do. I say we go and complain and demand our students, athletes, and teachers get what they need. New facilities and more funding.
Except for PNG's football stadium and the Butch, Nederland's facilities are as good as all other schools in 20-4A.  And by the way, Bulldog stadium is more than adequate.
 4. Big nite for the Nederland Bulldogs in the boys game.  Scored three goals and assisted on the other.
 5. God bless your son and all the men and women serving our country.  You have every right to be a proud parent.
10% of their annual salary. PLUS..... The real kicker is they were offering $100 a day for sick-days not used.  Coach Hooks probably has 200-300 of those lying around!   That offer expired today.
HOLY COW!!!! I wish my district would come close to offering ANY of that for me to leave....( We are being offered nothing and get nothing for our sick days....At this point I have no incentive not to miss the majority of the remaining school days.)
How about this for incentive - if you're not sick, the right thing to do is report to work.
 7.
I will disagree with you on NISD being behind in technology, Bon Mot. They have computers in every classroom in the district, some classes have multiple pcs.  There are 7 labs at the highschool, 2 each at the middles schools and 2 each at the elementry schools of 30+ pcs.   They have voice over ip phones, wireless access at most schools and a mobile lab at the high school.  In addition, the infrastructure behind all of this is upgraded in a 3 year cycle.  I would say for the triangle area, and probably most of SE Texas Ned is head and shoulders ahead.
Careful now bigdog.  That ain't following the company line.
 8. Whats the deal.  In the last bond we were told that this had to be done now!!!  But now they are saying it can wait.  Which is it?
 9. Rick Perry was a pilot in the US Air Force in the 70's.  In my book, that's working.
 10.
Since PNG lost to Vidor and HF, the PNG Ned game is not that big outside of just being a rivalry game between the district's top two teams.  Regardless of the score, PNG will end up second and Nederland will end up first...
Aren't PN-G and Vidor both 8-4 and tied for second place in district?
 11.

What happened to the Texas lottery funding the schools?   >:( :o Where has that money gone to?  Legislature always get the community to vote on one thing and once it his the floor, funds are redirected....poor kids....cutting out Pre K...come on...
You need to look at your Rep. Governer Rick Perry. He has never worked a job a day in his life yet he is now worth a Million Dollars. Just like the Superintendent in Beaumont. How many Teachers could be payed with his salary??
Rick Perry's salary is $150k per year.  So if you' re talking about him, the answer to your question is about three.  If you're talking about Carrol Thomas ($360k per year), the answer is about seven.
Well, HJ hasn't had a pep rally for its basketball team in the last 5 years.  I'm with you.... I think that sucks!  But Neumann does not stand alone in that shooting gallery.
Sounds like there are other ADs out there that could make more of an effort to show their support for the entire Athletic Dept.

 14. Does this district not go to shootouts?  Obviously not or there wouldn't be a tie, so I guess my question is why doesn't this district go to shootouts?
 15.

I would rather watch any high school sport over professional sports any day.But what I would rather see is more education going on than competitive sports. Many school districts are laying off teachers or are not renewing contracts due to budget shortfalls. When I see a school district such as Liberty doing this and plan on putting more than 30 kids in one classroom it concerns me.Liberty has 14 high school football coaches and cant even get a winning season, but do you here about any of these guys getting laid off or not renewed,Nope.Kenneth Skidmore had 6 coaches when he won state for Hull Diasetta in '79,'Pudgy'Richardson had 6 coaches when he won state for Barbers Hill in '76.Why does any 3A or lower need anymore coaches than 6 ? We need certified teachers that can teach more than football and health. If you cant cut your budget good enough to keep your educators then you shouldn't be doing sports.Just sayin'!!!
outstanding post! too bad it has nothing to do with this thread...at the top of each thread, there is a heading called "subject" the words following this give you an inclination of what topic is to be discussed as you scroll down the page for example, you could start a thread for yourself and in subject line you could put something like "Why I hate Liberty Athletics" and then other people could read what you wrote and extrapolate on that topic as they saw fit. In this way, you could unleash your personal vendetta against Liberty Athletics without hijacking someone else's thread about select sports, fire dancing, cake decorating or whatever they were discussing. 16.
Will Matt Cross from Lamar PA get any consideration?   He has been great there.  I am not endorsing him....just asking the question.
I just asked the same question in another area.  It's getting harder and harder to ignore what he's doing at LSC-PA.
 17. I wonder if they'll consider Matt Cross from LSC-PA.  He's done a great job for them.  I know he's not a big name but wow, what he's done in a couple of years in PA is amazing.

 19.
Did anyone see Ball play in the Nederland tourney? Are they quick, big, or deep? Does Nederland have a good shot if they come out firing on all cylinders?
Saw Ball in Nederland's tourney and yes they are quick and deep.  Two stud players.  Don't remember them being real big but not sure about that.  Should be a great game!
 20. Nederland boys are 7-1 in district.  Bye the way, thanks for all your work, WOSgrad.
