Do you think this team that goes 11 players deep can win district and get back to state? Do you think their lack of a tall front court will hurt them?

My thoughts are that their chances to get to Austin are better than most.

Guard play will determine a lot. They have the bigs and if the guard play steps up to the task they have as good as shot as anyone....they had good guards last year but not an outstanding one that was needed to put them over the top......

They have the bigs?? no-look, I think it's safe to say you have not seen Silsbee this year. They have one "big" player, '6"4 Stallworth.

Silsbee is mostly guards and that is what is driving this team. (Stallworth plays in and out). Silsbee is pushing the ball up the floor, shooting three's, attacking the basket, and throwing "in your face" defensive pressure every trip down the floor. Silsbee is a guard oriented team this year. They are nothing like they have been the past few years. Speed, speed, speed!!!

They will win based on their guards, I agree. Their guard play is much better this year.

I wouldn't say we have the bigs.  Although DC will hang with just about anyone we have to face  down low, he is only 6'4 not small but not real big either. Our guard's  have to take care of the ball. Having Gaines back at point will help that. I am looking forward to seeing him match up with Gus this year should be exciting .At 6'2 Lane will match up well on the outside. Team speed and depth will be the Tiger's strenght this year.  I will be interested to see how the coaches use the bench this year when we get to tough games especially in district and the playoffs.  Like has been said the Tigers have the talent to get to Austin then I am not sure how they match up but play two good games and who knows.  Right now focus on getting better, then district, and the region.  I wish it was possible for Silsbee, HJ, and Cleveland to all end up in Huntsville not sure who the fourth team would be if you could pick the top 4 in the region.  That would be a great two days of bball.

Good enough that the Enterprise put them on the cover of the front page questioning Travis' player hair policy.

I agree Chad. Wasn't too fond of that article myself.

When was this? I missed it.

From what I hear, they are just as good as they were last year

Hold on BAD!  You're the one that asked the questions.  Have the courtesy of letting people answer them.  My response:  yes and yes.

It's another joke piece from that RAG.

Of everything happening in the Golden Triangle, they lead with that. JOKE!

I haven't bought one of them in a long time.  Not worth the $.25 it used to be much more what they charge today.

    • Nice deflection, too. No mention of Trump using an African American church to look like he’s the minority’s friend then walking out the back door and going to a white supremacist laced rally hosted by Charlie Kirk aka “The Civil Rights Act Was A Bad Idea”.
    • Remember when someone said they were stepping away from this forum?  What a glorious 2 minutes that was.  Now, if I may attempt an impression, “You knuckle-draggers are idiots and I am going to sit here and ridicule you about everything!  (Tongue sticking out🤪)”.
    • There was a national media outlet I used to love to watch.  I worked midnights for years and would come home and get caught up on all the latest headlines.  The anchors were humorous, had catch phrases and presented the sports hi-lights from the previous day.  They had fun segments where they would show the top 10 and not top 10 of the night or the week.  New ownership took over and started pushing agendas and politics.  Sports was pushed down to secondary status after indoctrination.  I phased out of watching the channel altogether.  Started watching again after years of being away because my favorite sporting event is exclusively on that channel.  Lo and behold nothing has changed.  They have complete segments dedicated to hi-lighting those on the “front-line” of social change and isolating 98% of the clientele who just wish to watch sports.  They have laid off tons of long time and popular hosts.  They have fired anchors for not bowing to their woke ideology.  Would someone step up and finally create another sports network to compete with the woke 4-letter network? Sad!!!!  Sports should be a refuge from the day to day grind.  Sports should be a haven to get away from wokeness.  You may now tune back to your regularly scheduled programming.  I am off the soapbox.
    • How did you achieve such lofty status? You’re occupying a high seat of judgement when  you make such all encompassing proclamations.
