Good offense, no defense...  Usually a pretty fast team.

I'll take Humble, cuz Willis is to unpredictable.  They look good sometimes, and struggle others.  No mistake about it though...  They are the second best team in 18-4A.

I saw them against Davis i believe...so i couldn't really tell what they had.

Im antcipating a hard fought game...but then again, i was expecting that the last two weeks to no avail.

Here's my take on Willis...they are inconsistent. Having said that, IF their offense doesn't turn the ball over, I really don't see anybody stopping them and i do mean anybody, don't care what district youre from. Turnovers have killed them. Defensively i think they are average at best. Special Teams, again average..they've taken 2 punts back for td's, had 3 kickoffs for td's called back..the team speed is very good. I think TALENT wise, they match up with humble pretty well...I know it's cliche, but whichever team has the fewest turnovers I believe will win...ALOT of people will be at this game, should be fun to watch.

Speak for your fans.  its a Saturday game, and we historically have HORRIBLE saturday game attendence...but hopefully since its an afternoon game we can get more people out there.  Willis is the one that moved it to 2pm, it was originally was slated for 6pm.  Something about getting home too late.

Look forward to the game, especially if you say they are as good offensively as you say.  Love for our defense to have a challange. so far...not a single offense has scored more then 17 points on our starters....and after the dobie game...we are averaging right at 8 points a game.  Huntsville would of gone scoreless has it not been for a blown coverage 19 second left in the 4th against our 3rd string DB.

Last game we stuttard offensively, made a lot of mistakes up front on the line and really through us off our game.  But the plus side ot having a well rounded team is that when one unit falls off the other steps up.  Our defense has been playing GREAT.

whats your prediction?

Only seen them once, and it was early.

Give me the scoop.

I know they have Fred Nixon, but what has this team developed into?

Who you got?  Humble or Willis

Won't be a lot of country music being played on the intercom........  ;D ;D ;D

Willis is too hot & cold to make a prediction...by the way they're not MY fans...I live in Louisiana now. I just have friends in the Kingwood area & I used to coach/live in that area.
I am actually hoping for a challenge.

I think we will come out on top if we go out and do what we have been doing.

Heard from a buddy that the humble Principal was at the district cross country meet and was talking about the in-fighting and jealousies that was going on with the football team now...u know anything about this?
Principle Charles Ned would never say anything of the sort.  That is some major miss information, in fact i would say that the bond in that locker room is the closest i have EVER seen a Humble team.  I am good friends with Charles....trust me when i tell you, that is a bogus.  If it was a Principle, it wasn't THE principle...and if it was said, it was said from an ignorant prospective.

Either way.

Humble wins it 41-10.

Is there any way I can listen to this game online?
TSRN was there...that being said.  I think the cubs handle Willis pretty good.

Humble got a slow start with a bonehead mistake from our Punt returner when he attempted to return a kick from our endzone...we battled field position the first half...then we took off offensively and defensively.

3 picks, and held the Wildkats to 10 points (43+ average), and 202 yards. (most which came on a prevent defense that we were running at the end of the 1st half).

I think its is safe to say that Willis was out athlete'd, and out coached.

after a quarter of evaluating them, i didn't see how they could match up with our speed defensively.

We always do... (except when they had Michael Bishop) Looks like we'll be getting Caney Creek, if they beat Porter next week.  The other match ups look like this...  Humble vs Stratford, Montgomery vs Huntsville & Willis vs Waller/Magnolia West

I was kind of hoping that Willis was at least on par with us so we could get a good hard fought battle in to prepare us for the playoffs.

Willis however did show us a couple things we needed to work on, which is always good.

Id say that their offense is actually pretty good, but the just ran into a buzz saw of a defensive unit.  It will be difficult for any team to put up point against us, so definitely nothing to be ashamed about.

Willis has a good bunch of kids there, and Coach Jackson is doing a solid job.

look forward to next year Willis.

Humble 398...you were the better team today. no if's & or buts... congrats to you...i really thought willis was ready to compete with you, but no way. They graduate 8 sr & you graduate 37. MAYBE next year they can give you a better game, but today you were the better team.

    • 3 counties voted in this particular election. Jasper, Orange and Jefferson. Covey won Jasper and Orange counties pretty handily. Phelan won Jefferson county by 2800 votes.   Should Jasper and Orange county secede? lol
    • I know Hearne had a dry spell from like 2014-2017… but other than that they have been pretty decent for the most part I think. 2018-2019 I believe they were at the state tournament. Not sure the exact year Coach Williams got there though.
    • Goes down in flames? Considering it was a runoff election already that was feverishly close 'til the end with only a difference of 366 votes out of 25,260, I don't know if that is a fair description.
    • According to UIL archives, the playoffs were created in 1920, when the all schools played for one ring and ended in a tie.    Divisions were created in 1925 when 1A was created and then the  "B" division was created in 1926 and only played to BI-District.  Starting in 1928-1972 the "B" division played to regionals or Bi-district, it varied.   By then the PVIL and the UIL had multiple divisions up to 4A. Nederland won regionals in '42, and '45 and  tied in the '44 regionals .  They were undefeated both years ('42 & '45) with one tie in '42. PNG won regionals in '34, '46 and 47.   They were 9-2 in '34, undefeated in '46 and 11-1 in '47. PA Austin won regionals in '43 and '47.  They were 9-1 in '43 and 9-2-1 in '47. PA (Which became PA TJ) - played in a division that went to State.   Those teams are listed above. Orange- (Precursor to WOS) had several good seasons in the 19-teens and 1920s but I don't see any playoff information.  *EDIT* See playoff history at the top of the post* Beaumont- Played in the 1A division once the playoffs were created so played the full bracket.
