No Dayton freshman is on the varsity roster.
Ryan McBride is, I thought there was one more.
He's a sophomore.

I thought Lumberton freshmen were supposed to be dominant...am I mixing them up with somebody or what?

Also, JV in the 2nd:
LCM 21
Lumberton 0
Whoever told you LR freshman were dominant was telling you a fib. They haven't won a game this year. The freshman and JV usually do lose....all the playmakers are on varsity!  ;D
Sounds like A Bears Bear is tired of having his you know what handed to him and he thinks this is the year it changes.  New coach and an influx of WOS players may do the trick.  LCM is definately more competitive.

How did you derive that?  Just because LCM freshmen and JV beat Lumberton subvarsities doesn't mean I was bragging, I was just reporting a score.  And I heard before the frosh game that Lumberton's froshes were salty-don't shoot the messenger.

And I wouldn't give all the credit to an "influx of wos players."  The varsity will start 1 or 2 guys tomorrow that went to WOS last year. And yes, Coach Crouch is an immesurable improvement over Moody, but give credit where credit is due; this year's seniors were the ones that were the sophomores starting on that 2008 debacle and all the hard work and experience have apparently paid off.

That being said, they are still 0-0 in district and it is quite understand why Lumberton is favored in the game

Dayton Freshman are the most improved group I have seen. They are 4-0 and have scored 110 points and given up 34. BIG improvement. Two games against 5A freshman teams. The STEWART system is working.

Should be an interesting game with them and Crosby then. Crosby's 9th grade A team are 4-0 and have beaten Montgomery 24-0, PN-G 40-8, Dawson 34-16, and Lee 74-6.

In my opinion letting your freshman team beat another by 68 points is classless unless you run the same running play over and over and the other team just fails to stop it.  Did anyone see this game?

Yes, there was a running clock in the 4th quarter and Crosby punted at least twice during this time with 2nd stringers in.

I wouldn't get too up in  arms about it.
I can still remember North Shore led by Cedric Cormier beating Lee's freshman even worse than that back in the day.  Three years later, it took a Hail Mary on the last play for that same NS bunch to beat Lee by 4.
Lee should be used to it at this point this year.  I know LP beat them at least 38-0.  I'm not sure how bad they have been whipped by the other teams on their schedule.
Lee just doesn't have more than one or two guys that really look like they want to play football.

Lee is really bad and coaches are not to bright either.... if you lock up man to man and blitz the outside line backers every time.. all it takes is to get past the first line and your running on the secondary.... which could not catch anyone cause they are chasing the widerecievers....
Crosby Fresh are really good though.... man they are big, fast, can catch, hit.... they dont have a weak spot....
there LB hit some one so hard agaist Dawson there helmet poped off and flew 10 feet in the air!!!

It's a fine line.  If you have your reserves playing, I think you send the wrong message by not expecting them to execute.  On the other hand, it would suck to be a freshman on the Lee team and get beat that badly.  I don't think it's poor sportsmanship if you are running up the middle with reserves, if the Cougars had an air raid offense going in the fourth quarter, then that's just bad juju man.  Sounds like both the cougars and the broncos have a lot to look forward to in the future.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
