Sold Out!!!!

Recommended Posts

Yep, the game is sold out! But, I'm disappointed that they aren't going to have standing room only behind the endzones. I was told they are worried the grass there isn't ready and could get muddy which they don't want.

However, I wish they would have standing room only on the concourse at the Montagne Center.

They won't get 20k without letting them stand there.  In fact they will only have the 16k capacity of the stadium.  The grassy areas are they only "standing room only" areas in the stadium.

UNLV I don't think we could get 40k yet but the mid 20's would not surprise me for this game if the stadium could hold it.  I still want to know what the season ticket sales are for this year.  I read on this site or BigRedInsider.com that they have sold out all of the season tickets alloted.  But what is that number.  I have to believe that it is at least 6k.  Maybe more.  If it holds 16k and you alot 4k for students and another 500 for band and then that gives you 11.5k for ticket sales.  Wish someone who knows would shed some light on this.  We will just have to wait and see how the season goes but stadium expansion should be a topic that is looked at and being planned for in the near future if the demand stays where it is right now.  Let's hope it does and then some.

Exactly, the community has to stay excited about the program in order to expand the stadium, as well as continue growth at Lamar

Congrats Lamar!
You have to be excited about how football has restarted at LU. The Stadium looks awesome from the pictures, a sold out game, a great crowd that traveled last weekend and the performance on the field. I would not be surprised to see Lamar come out with it's first voctory in their first home game. Now that would really raise the level of excitement!

unlv wont be satified until we have a stadium the size of kyle field that has a retractable roof  :D

That may be true, but I like his big time thinking. Just like coach Woodard would rather have a very agressive player that he has to harness a little to keep under control instead of a passive kid he has to try to motivate to be agressive, I like big thinkers who want to reach instead of those who say we are too small and weak to be better and bigger.  You achieve bigger goals with the former.

Hope theres some student tickets left tomorow i didnt expect it to sale out

Got my tickets tues morning and they were going like hotcakes.  Coach Woodard and staff came out of montagne by ticket counter and said "Why are all these people here?"  Gotta love a sense of humor.

Heard that all the student tickets went as well.  Better get there early.

    • Will probably be released by the Democrats come September.  Sound familiar?
    • Sure.  You reassign an employee and they leave voluntarily instead of being fired and being open to litigation.  The outcome is the same, but you are making my point.  The superintendent and AD and principal are all empowered to make personnel decisions.  Instead of accepting the decision made, you talk about lawyering up, no one else was reprimanded, railroad job.  I am old enough to remember when high school sports taught life lessons...accountability being chief among them.
    • I know absolutely nothing about the situation, but I do know head coaches of sports other than the AD have actual teaching assignments, and I know from my wife having worked in the sped department of multiple schools that it’s not uncommon at all for coaches to shirk those duties.  It could very well be that this was the case at BC.  Or not, I don’t know.  Just bringing this up to point out the fact that, although many coaches only want to worry about coaching, they generally have several other responsibilities at the school.  some of them neglect or ignore these duties entirely.  If he’s been written up for other issues before, it’s a dumb argument to say “he was punished for this and others were not”.  If he had a pile of write ups in his file and they did not then it makes sense that the punishments were different.
    • He wasn’t fired, he was reassigned and people get reassigned all the time. If he was actually fired, then you would have a point, but he wasn’t fired. Based on the information presented here no way this would stand if they fired him and he lawyered up.
    • I heard the assistant was going to get this job and assume it was referring to the old Vidor coach, Nate Smith.  I always thought he did more with less at Vidor and can't help but think he shares some responsibility in Vidor's recent success.
