JBDfan:  You can analyze any game any way you want, bottom line their were missed calls on both teams like any game.  How about the pass interference call that kept Jasper in the game??  There were many missed opportunities for both.  Tensions were high for both teams because of the high scoring and Lumberton comeback.  Lumberton played very well against a very fast and physical  Jasper team.  They should do well in their district barring anymore injuries.

Raider Oldtimer:  Coach Credeur had many of his 2nd string players in on the last series including the backup QB and a 5'2 RB, please don't stir the pot and make bad assumptions and even worse comments.  Credeur was not "punishing" anyone, that's an absurd assumption.  I think you're the one who said Hughes should not be a QB, so I rest my case.

Absolutely agree that there are normally always missed calls both ways and that Lumberton played very well, especially as the game went on.

yuo can look at that hit any way you want man but it was c/s hit 15 yds behind the runner   >:(
I clearly stated the hit was inappropriate and it is uncalled for. I was just saying that nobody knows that the kid delivering the hit meant it for harm. It was stupid, I agree.

From what I saw last night as a Jasper Bulldog Fan im ok with it cause there is a big up side for jasper you can only get better it was a good test for the Bulldogs of Jasper. The running game put in work last night we need a little more spread in the game plan and the DB have to get better and they will so by the time Dist. comes around they will be ready. Jasper is loaded for the next 3 to 4 years!!!

I talked to #45 after game. Dr. says torn ACL. Kid is just sick - says "I will be back. I will be back." Pray for healing. I truly hope the player that hit him didn't do so with ill intent.

Ease up guys, I know Coach Creduer wasn't punishing them, just kidding around. Coach C has way too much integrity for that, I mean how many times have you guys seen a coach go out on the field and send a player off for an unsportsmanlike penalty, I've never seen it. I even told a buddy of mine once we had 42 points that unless Jasper scored again the coach would start playing conservative ball because he doesn't run scores up on the opponents, of course surprisingly enough we had two series where we broke away and scored, but the plays themselves were grind it out type plays. Coach C in my opinion is the best and most classy coach Lumberton has ever had and, yes I'm showing favoritism, I believe he is currently the best coach in the area. Of course I know everyone on here is going to make a case for their coach and go ahead, but I think Lumberton is satisfied with who WE have.

Wow, I hope the Dr is wrong but you could see how much pain the kid was in. I was wondering about the unsportsmanlike conduct call was for. It looked like jaspers #10 told the official something and then he threw the flag and called the penalty against Lumberton. Had to be bad for coach to go all the way on the field and pull the player out of the huddle.

The last time lumberton beat jasper was 1985 in a pouring rain storm.  The score was 7-6.  IMO the difference in tonights game was coaching or the lack their of, no disrespect to lumberton (alot of x-bulldogs live in lumberton now) but if you lose to lumberton and we were bigger and faster and more athletic its time for this group of coaches to look for a new career....

I don't know what that kid did but the coach who came out on the field asked him "Have you lost your mind?" Then he told him to go to the bench. I heard it standing on the Jasper sideline.

A few things. Lumberton and Jasper both played hard. Jasper is young and that showed. Lumberton is fortunate that Jasper made some "young" mistakes. Jasper is very talented, but needs the coaches to improve there schemes and crispness. I think Jasper could be very good with alterations to this offense that Bickham is set on running.

The hit on the kickoff was a penalty and called one. It was not good, but I do not believe it was with ill intent. The coaches do need to address this with these kids. That one especially and I pray that the injured recovers quickly. These things happen even when they shouldn't or didnt have to.

Two penalties should have been called on Lumberton touchdowns. Tripping behind the runner none the less on one that was in the broad open and was obvious and in the late part of the game one of the line men had the left arm and jersey of one of Jasper's LB's that was reaching out to make the tackle. That is part of the game as well, but they should get the obvious ones and those were two of them.

Fumbles and mistakes hurt Jasper. Lumberton took advantage. Both teams should fair well. Jasper may do better in their district than Lumberton just from seeing them tonight. Speed can hurt Lumberton. Passing can hurt Jasper.

Good luck to both. It is just the first game.

You are a real good Bulldog fan.  All you saw was how talented Jasper is, Lumberton has no talent, and all the "gift" plays Lumberton got that enabled them to beat a superior Jasper team.  Pretty good analagy for a team that got pasted.

#10 on Jasper had been talking about one of Lumberton players all night and #40 (that coach c) took out had enough and said something back to number #40. I was sitting with #40's parents at the game and I asked his mom last night after the game and that is what he told her.

#40 (and I know the young man well) made a huge mental error.  You simply can not let the other guy in your head.  As a result, his behavior on the field cost the team dearly. Coach C made the proper decision and I hope the young man learns from it.  I expect on film day he will be reminded of this...

Execution and adaptation are keys to winning. Lumberton refused to lay down and adapted to Jasper's offense well after the 1st quarter.

The Dogs lost their fire and never really got it back.  They young men have size and speed and it will show come district play.  I love the "cram it down their throats" approach.  I expect they will have an excellent year if they stay motivated.

raideroldtimer, go back and think about the way things were before Creadur. I promise you that coaching staff knows better than you on how to coach that team
Lumberton definitely was well coached and won the coaching battle. That is a large part of why the score was like it was.

I second this.

I'm a little embarrassed by some of the comments. We lost a preseason game to a good 4a program. Let's see if we can learn from defeat and improve next week.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
