PNG in the cellar?? Doty's good enough to lead his team to a much better result than that.
How much better are you talking?  And PNG is losing some serious players and doesn't have that much coming up...

Doty is good enough to beat Vidor and Lumberton himself... My rankings go like this:

1. Nederland- Top 3 scorers return from a district championship team. All they have to do is feed it down low to win games. I only question point guard play.

2. Ozen- Talent is still there after a relatively young team from last year.

3. Central- Hopefully for their sake can be more consistant from last year...

4. LCM- Hunter Gonzalez should lead them back into the playoffs.

5. Livingston- Not sure what they have coming back or coming up but always a decent team.

6. PNG- As stated earlier Doty is real good.

7. Vidor- Nothing really there for me to think they can make any real noise.

8. Lumberton- See Vidor above.

You really think that or are just a true fan? Its great to pull for your team but there is no way they are better than Nederland, Central, and Ozen.

1. Ozen has good guard play and big kid back
2. Central has most talented guard back with others back
3. LCM has almost everybody back
4. Nederland has some pretty good ones back
5. Vidor only lost a point guard
6. Livingston, lost 2 or 3 good ones but they are loaded at younger levels
7. PNG is always tough with a kid named Dotty and some other experience back
8. Not sure ( Lumberton )
Note: Heard the Livingston coach is headed to College Station!
Overall Picture: Will most likely come down to the last game like this past year.

Ozen has beat Nederland 3 times this summer
LOL...and that means what?  Never thought I would see the day Ozen started counting summer league wins.
Aint that the truth.. lol But anyways, these summer league games just get the kids to stay playing some type of competitive bball instead of sit around. There are three good teams that so far have looked better than the rest, Nederland, Ozen, and Central, will compete for a district championship.

LCM lost the big 6' 5'' sophomore center who had started on varsity his first year of playing organized basketball.

Jordan Wells moved to Oregon over the summer.  This is very depressing news for Bears fans who were looking forward to a team that only lost 2 of it top 7 scorers.

Ozen's varsity beat Nederland's sophomores by one in summer league.  Not saying they won't win district, but this is the weakest Ozen team in the history of the school.

Good!  Hey how are they doing with the coaching situation over there?

Ozen isnt looking so great this year. They dont seem like the top notch Basketball team in the distrcit. Central and Nederland are the two best teams IMO..

And that game was just sumer league, but it showed that the JV team for Nederland will be pretty darn good.  ;)

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
