I think Trevin Sonnier will be Nederland's best player next season. He will play both ways and should have a great season.
I agree about Sonnier, but I also believe Jake Kemp will do great things as well  ;)
Forney is the key guy for Nederland next year. Sonnier and Kemp are going to play big roles next season though.
Are they going to keep Forney at qb? Tyler Smith started the year in front of him on the depth chart before he got hurt. They might just keep Forney back at DE.
I think they will go with what got them to the playoffs after such a rough start, Forney throwing the ball. Tyler Smith would be good back there as well if they need Dionte on defense.
I think it will be interesting to see what Nueman has up his sleeve as far as strategically placing his returning players, but I agree with ForeverADog... stay with Forney at QB

Tyler Newcomb, Barbers Hill Sophomore QB - Newcomb transferred to BH in 2009 from a 5a school & has raised all of our eyebrows.  He can run the ball amazingly well and can pass the ball down the field ACCURATELY.

Oh yeah, he was also the Kicker, Punter and played on Special Teams .... An ALL Around Athlete and Leader
He is a better runner, but thompson throws better.

BH-
Ryan Rueter - LB 1st team all-dist. as a soph.
James Bellard -LB will give BH a great LB crop.
Logan McSwain- Can play LB or DE 2nd team all-dist. as a soph

Wade Duke WR
Jesse Morton WR

Andrew McMillian  RB had a good year as a soph.

BH had a kid in the secondary, can't remember his full name  Perry, he also got all-dist honors as a soph.

Is this the kid from Dobie? Y'all might need all the RB's and QB's you can get your hands on next year. The option/wishbone can wear a QB out. They might take some big hits with the new "O", especially since you guys groom your kids for the BH scheme from youth football on up. Gonna have to do some "re-programing".

LCM, outside of the qb-receiver realm, has 3-year starter senior rb Tevvin Jones, junior 2-way lineman (and all-american shot-put and discus thrower) Hayden Reed, 1st team all-district corner Aldric Jones and junior team tackles leader Ruben Alinez.  LCM-like last year-once again has former players coming back out who should contribute as well as several former WO-S guys who should impact.  Also watch out for several of the freshman from last year, LCM will likely start 4-5 sophomores on a team that returns-depending on how you count it-14 to 16 starters already.  I believe that there is also optimism in the second year of an offensive and defensive system drastically different from the Moody years.  The bears will have 8 to 10 three-year starters, mostly sophomores (one freshman).  It would seem that the sophomore laden class of 2007, a year which will go down in shame in Bear Country, will pay dividens.  And there is always the Hunter Gonzales-Zack Sonnier connection, although one should definately expect more production from the likes of returning impact players at receiver-Preston Armstrong, Tyler Wright, Danniel Harrison, and Elliot Perry (a starter before sustaining a season ending wrist injury during the first scrimmage after catching a couple of passes.  On defense, expect significant contributions from new guys, as several sophomores and a couple of WO-S transfers fight for playing time.  This in a unit that only loses 3 starters, and played respectibly when motivated.  However, dont expect the size dilemna on the d-line to be solved anytime soon.  The d-line will remain potent pass-rushers but will face severe handicaps against bigger offensive lines.  Both kickers, who were first timers a year ago, return, and Gonzales will man the Punter spot for a third straight year.  Tevvin Jones will return kicks for a third straight year, and super-quick Aldric Jones will likely be one of the two punt returners.

wow, if these guys are fighting for playing time at lcm they wouldve never seen the field at wos! good move on their part!    ;) ;D ;D ;)

One of the wo-s guys is a highly talented freshman, who also is close to top of the class at LCM.  maybe he just wanted a more stimulating academic enviornment...

thats possible... but being were talking about football on a football thread and you made the comment that they were "fighting for playing time" i dont see it being an academic issue. maybe their family moved to the district and had no choice or maybe these playeres couldnt cut it at wos and didnt have a shot at sniffing the grass on the wos football field and they saw the writing on the wall. see like it or not alot of players will gladly trade coach t's offseason, expectations, and discipline for easier practices, lower expectations, less of a tradition, and alot less wins and head north on hwy 87.    :'( :'(

La Porte Bulldogs 2010

Anthony Webb--RB had over 200 against PAM in the playoffs.  Ran for 1600, not bad considering they had two with over 1600.

Jeremy McNeal--First Team safety; will probably be the QB

Chad Sutherland--First Team LB as a sophomore

Karl Terrebonne--First Team wide receiver

Jemarcus Erskin, John Wesby, Ben Flores

Coach Pierce is the new coach t.  And i recall dan hooks saying after the orange bowl last year that "lcm was in better shape than (his) guys"  But hey, you can think what you want.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
