Cole would have made a difference but the outcome would not have changed.Would have been closer but  still a loss. Angleton is a very very good team. They have 4 guys who can take it to the house at anytime. There defense is not great but good enough. Right now, don't see a team in Region III that can beat them. No excuses, Angleton was the better team tonight. Good game Cats and Mustangs!

Angleton is definitely the real deal.  Not having Cole hurt, but I do not think that would have made up the difference, and Lifau did a pretty good job in Cole's stead.  It was punch, counter punch for a while, but eventually the speed got to us.

Friendswood has a solid team and we knew it would be a tough game, especially playing at their place. Friendswood has an excellent oline and did a good job most of the night picking up the blitzes Angleton was throwing at them. Their defense was getting pounded all night though, especially the dline and linebackers. I noticed that as the game went along, some of the Friendswood defenders were slowly getting up after each play and limped around. Angleton's oline was really coming off the ball aggressively and were driving back their big defensive linemen. Friendswood will be allright though and should make the playoffs.

As far as a rematch with Central, that may not happen. If Angleton continues their winning ways and qualify for the playoffs, they may go Div.2 this time if Friendswood and Pearland Dawson make it. They have higher enrollments.

And Angleton has to stop Ploch who has 207 more rushing yds.3 more rushing tds.-440 more passing and 10 more passing tds.

They can!

Dayton can also stop Angleton...

Dayton's defense is getting better every week.

Ploch is also improving weekly, for a guy who didn't play QB until this year, he is an offensive machine.

Not - love to see it. Dayton could not stop Cole - Angleton has 4 kids as good or better than Cole dude. Could be ugly - hope you get there.

As much as i would love to see my Wildcats(Angelton) aginst Central this year ATWILDCAT is right

With the way Dawson is playing right now, looks like them and Friedswood are gone to represent 24-4A in the D1 playoffs while we drop down to the D2, as long as we keep winning..

    • What the writer stated wrt crossover votes in the primary/runoff: "Covey and his supporters Paxton and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Phelan only won because Democrats crossed over to vote in the Republican Primary for him. Paxton said Covey’s campaign identified “at least” 1,442 Democrats who voted early in Jefferson County in the primary runoff. The Covey campaign has not released its methodology behind its claim, but  This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up  by The Texan news website found that 9% of Republican voters in the March District 21 primary had voted in one of the previous four Democratic primaries. However, only 5% of that group had voted in all four previous Democratic primaries. What Phelan’s opponents did not mention is historically Democratic Jefferson County is undergoing a political transition towards the Republican party — the county judge switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2017 — so many residents have a mixed primary voting history. And Phelan’s allies in the House dismissed the idea that liberals swung the election. "I knocked on doors, hundreds and hundreds of doors, made calls for Dade,” Republican Rep. Jeff Leach, R-Plano, said on Mark Davis’ radio program Wednesday. “I did not speak to a single Democrat down here in HD21. Not a single one." "
