400 meter dash-Justin Krautz Nederland 49.72(FAT)

800 meter run-Justin Krautz Nederland 1:58.7

pole vault-Jared Parker Vidor 16'

4oo meter relay-Central 41.68

Those are some real good times!  I love a good 400/800 meter man.  Hopefully he can pull that 800 time down to a 1:55 or lower, especially with 49 sec. speed in the 400.

800 meters--- a real man's race!

Anyone have any of the small school times around here?  HJ still have that good 300mH guy?  Box was his name.

Im not sure about alot of the field events in the area 4A district except I know Vidor has a Great Pole Vaulter named Parker but Central's 4x100 and 4x200 are leading the 4A district, as well as Frog's brother going 10.5 @ Baytown this weekend. I think Dayton is leading the district in the 4x400.

In the 3A district WOS is leading in all three relays, the 100, 200 and I believe the 400.  Silsbee I believe is leading in the shot, 110's, and 300's.  I' m sure WOS has Long and Triple Jumpers cause they always do.  Last year at the Regional Meet they had two different kids go over 23', I have never seen that before.  Especially at a school that size.

As for the area girls goes:  ALEXIS BRANNON IS LEADING WHATEVER SHE WANTS TO BE!!!!!!

Yeah, that Brannon girl is pretty good from what I read.  Isn't she just a soph or junior?  I look for great things out of her.  WOS always has some track athletes (go figure  :-\)  With the way Texas scores high school track meets, you have four or five speedsters and you can win just about any meet, depending on quality, that includes the state meet.  I am an old track coach and I love to watch the individual events, especially the hurdles and field events.  That's where the coaching comes in.  If Texas scored the relays like they do the individual events (10-8-6-4-2-1) there would be a lot more coaching and strategy needed in meets.  JMHO

In the 3A district, BC has the fastest long and mid distance guys, their sophmore has run a 10:08in the 3200.In the 1600, they have 4:37,4:38,and 4:45. They also have 2:00 and 2:04 800 runners. The guy that has ran 2:00 has also ran a 50.8 and beat the WOS 400 runner at silsbee. I dont know if hes the leader in that event but it will be a good race between the two.

A'Lexus Brannon is a Sophomore.  She has already won long jump as a 9th grader. This year her PR is 21'1/2" and this weekend she jumped 19'11 1/2" at Prairie View with only 5 girls jumping.  She is just an excellent jumper who seems to improve each year. Way to go Girl!  Thanks for giving the girl her props! Also, I agree with the Old School Coach, if individual events were given the same points as the relays, maybe the coaches would have to do more individual coaching. I was beginning to think no one cared about the girls track & field!!!!!!!
