FINAL — Hamshire-Fannett 31 at Jasper 3 — Discussion

[AggiesAreWe]

This is the first time since 1967 that Jasper went winless in district. (3-12 in district the last three seasons)

Also the first time since the 1998 & 1999 seasons where they missed the playoffs in consecutive years.

Jasper took the air out of the ball most of the game. A heavy dose of backups and both teams running the ball and letting the play clock run down in the second half kept the score low. On a positive note, the game was 1/3 of the way to the deer lease, and because the second half only took about 45 minutes I got here at 12:30 instead of 2:00 like I was worried about.

My kicker tonight was 6/6 on touchbacks, 4/4 on XPs, and 1/1 on FGs.

The horns will face Athens in the first round. I was a little surprised by the Athens/Canton score, but Athens’ stud qb went down with an ankle injury in the 2nd quarter. Not sure if he’ll be able to go next week or not
