EagleFan1982 Posted 23 hours ago Report Posted 23 hours ago i noticed 2 major missing pieces in the win vs. New Caney for GCM. Their Kicker and #23 were missing from the game? Any idea what happened to them? Quote
PackAttack Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago I'm not much on predicting games. Think Lufkin and Goose Creek Memorial still have a lot on the line for a playoff spot. Galveston Ball sure didn't look like a team that scored 31 against LaPorte earlier in the year, and more like the team who had lost 31-3 the week before at home to New Caney. So don't put much stock in Lufkin's 56-0 win last Friday over a Ball team that didn't want to be there. This district certainly has had unexpected surprises from week to week and these next two weeks are very pivotal to which teams can make the playoffs or not. Quote

A lot of people are using La Porte as a comparison for different things. For the record, La Porte just got their D personnel back for the PAM game. Then, they preceded to lose their NT during that game. I don’t know his status. LP had to shuffle their D, and many D players were having to fill in on the O as LP lost their entire OL and others in Games 1 & 2. Any comparison using the LP D before the PAM game is moot. LP even had Simon and Reynolds playing LB in addition to their normal positions against GB because they were so banged up. That’s when Simon got ejected. GB was taking cheap shots at him all game while he was doubling on defense. Apparently, he finally had enough at the end of the game. He had to sit the first half of the GCM game. LP has been through the injury wringer this year. Quote

So what that LaPorte had injuries, everyone has those at some point in a season and you compensate the best way possible. Lufkin has had them too, had key WR and defensive secondary and DL guys out, even lost a starting SR DE and RB midway through the season. In fact Lufkin is just getting back two projected starters that were hurt before the season ever started. Teams just do their best and move on, LaPorte has done okay through their tough times. All teams do. I think Goose Creek Memorial will be a tough out for Lufkin on the road, but you still got to play the game. Lufkin doesn't mind traveling and they have already played at Stallworth this year.. Quote

A game between La Porte and Ball six weeks ago has absolutely nothing to do with a game between Lufkin and GCM this week. Mr. Buddy Garrity and AggiesAreWe 2 Quote
