Porter Wagoner’s show was must see tv. He came to XIT Rodeo more than once. Brought the Mandrell sisters along. The only female/s my dad thought was hotter than Barbara Mandrell was the Rockettes. (Ann Margaret was close.) 😅 Dolly came to XIT in 1980. Went back just to see her. Quote

Barbara Mandrell was very talented. She could sing, dance, and she played 5 instruments as I recall. Dolly had a great personality. I believe I read where she wrote “I will always love you” to Porter when she left his show. Dolly had a hit with that song and Whitney Houston made it almost a national anthem. OlDawg 1 Quote
