Very much so.

I dont think so. I believe if Silsbee put more pressure on the BC guards, they could have forced more turnovers. Silsbee' size doesn't play well in a ahalf court offense. I guess that was the reason they always played up tempo. Maybe I'm wrong.

It sounds to me that you're just salty because Silsbee lost

This score output was the way for Silsbee to win this game. They don't put the ball in the hoop well enough to get in high scoring games.

BC has two very good ball handlers.

Silsbee had full court pressure the entire game. It was just beat in the middle a whole lot and BC inbounded the ball quickly to avoid traps.

Silsbee doesn't have the back end defense or the depth to go all out pressing. But Silsbee never really did that anyways. They just pressured the ball full court. Never played a trapping zone defense.

How far do you have BC going in the playoffs? 3rd round? D2 Region 4?

Bridge City will be D1.

They will see Houston Washington 2nd rd.

And that will probably be it for them.  But it’s a good team, the best I’ve ever seen at BC.  How do these guys stack up against the best teams Bridge City has had?

IMO, '81 team was the best. This is definitely a top 5 all time BC team.

I have to agree with the gentleman who posted that the Cards almost lost this game due to selfishness. From my understanding, #24 is a freshman. He looks to have a lot of talent but has an awful attitude. He does not have court IQ and he doesn’t seem to be learning from that great group of seniors. He seems to be doing everything he can for his own stat book instead of helping the Cards win games. He has the talent to be a great asset to this team but his selfishness will cost them if Coach Daspit does not reel him in. He needs alot of fundamental work as well, like ball handling. Does he know that he has a left hand? He tries to do way too much and it is costing everyone. Tonight, he took some of the most ridiculously forced shots that any coach would bench his butt for. I’ve noticed that pattern with him over the last few games as well. He better be reeled in before playoffs or he will cause an unfortunate outcome for this amazing team. Great job tonight Cardinals. Keep it going!

#24 did hit about 4-5 three's last night. Three of those shots were big shots and at crucial times.

He really was the only BC player hitting three's on a regular basis last night. He also shot more three pointers than any BC player.

But I get what you are saying.

Queue up the Nick Saban “rat poison” speech.  Bridge City is playing just fine and the staff has it under control.  God forbid we enjoy a little success.

Enjoying success and discussing areas to improve aren’t opposites. The seniors have built strong chemistry over years, that’s a real strength. Playoffs tend to expose rushed decisions and defensive lapses no matter how talented a player is. Talking about tightening things up isn’t negativity… it’s wanting the team to make a deep run.

I think you are putting your own personal agenda above what is likely the best for that team.  There is always plenty to improve on, but questioning chemistry and team dynamics 30ish games into a season is not productive.  You are what you are at this point and it’s time to be the best version of that possible.  You know who makes deep runs?  Talented teams with guys that make plays.  And the freshmen for Bridge City is one of those guys.  Let the professionals worry about how to manage their squad.  I promise they aren’t just sitting around twiddling their thumbs.

If Booker T has any Lewis/Mcdermott caliber players on their team, it'll be a miserable round 2 for the Cardinals.

I scanned over their games played this year and didn't see anything too impressive in the wins department. Maybe they're still good, but not like a few years ago.

Booker T just lost to Yates and BC was up double digits multiple times on Yates last year but lost it late 4th quarter. So we’ll see how it goes come round 2.

I was one of those professionals for a long time before moving to this area many years ago. I am plenty qualified to call out what I see. Sometimes the truth hurts and you can tell who get their feelings hurt. I have no personal agenda and I want to see the Cards do well for many years after this one. A selfish player is not a play maker, end of story. The end of the game last night was nothing but chemistry and smooth ball movement on that court. That last group had to dig themselves out of a hole and they did it with class. I think Coach Daspit has done a wonderful job with this team. He deserves to be Coach of the Year.

24 for BC is a stud!! Will be special

24 is a stud and will be special, he just has alot of growing and learning to do. For now, he is nowhere near the caliber as some of the boys on that team, but he will get there by his senior year.
