BBBB Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago The 55-51 game was by far the more accurate game. I can link much better game footage than HUDL for anyone to make that assessment. Even in the 72-55 game, the score was 36-32 at half time. In any game, the more aggressive team fouls more especially if they’re playing full court defense for 32 minutes. Somehow every time a game is played at Silsbee, they don’t call blatant fouls against them. That game last night lasted almost an hour and a half due to all of the soft calls. Seemed like an attempted bail out. It’s been no different in the past. Last night, Silsbee shot 32 free throws, BC shot 16 free throws and 4 flagrant shots. One ref called 18 fouls, one called 17 and the third called 3. I actually thought BC had a decent turnout considering the atmosphere that has been there in the past. The amount of law enforcement present speaks for itself on that one. No matter who is playing, the fans should stay till the final buzzer to support their team. Fans trickling out a couple at a time is less obvious than a mass exodus! Just sayin. Quote

Foul and FT count discrepancies always happen on the home court. Even at Bridge City. Like last night, most times the better teams overcome those discrepancies. Part of the game. Quote

It’s sad that when Silsbee is on top, the fans are die hard but let them lose one game and look, they get kicked to the curb. What a shame! Half of the stands got up and left in the middle of the 4th quarter because BC controlled that game until the end. How embarrassing for those boys. Silsbee isn’t a bad team, BC was just the better team, and 2 of the 4 quarters, weren’t their best. Yes it’s just fans have been spoiled it’s Ben at least 20 years of Silsbee competing on a 5a 6a level never worrying about district no disrespect to any other district team but we knew if we didn’t win a championship in football that we always had Basketball and adjusted to coming down from what our fans have grown used to seeing is tough to swallow we know these young men are working hard and the coaching transition but Coach Sig was there when I graduated in 1990 fans aren’t used to seeing Silsbee struggling especially in Basketball I give much respect to these young men that have to deal with change from what they were taught under coach Sig and our fans have to be patient with Change. Keep showing up for them! They’ll be back on top. Boogy1000 1 Quote
