The loss stops the district game win streak for Silsbee at 53 games. First loss in district play since the 2021 season and the first time Bridge City has beat Silsbee in basketball since the 1981 season.

Looked like it might of been a blowout in BC's favor at first. I'll give our kids props for playing hard and not laying down. 

Beating Silsbee isn't much to flex over these days. I'm 50/50 on them even winning a playoff game this year.

Tigers just don’t have enough no shooting barley decent at the free throw line I wish they could just pressure the ball get steals and layups I know the talent isn’t there right now but this just hurts going from the very top to losing to anyone in district really can’t get used to this.

Silsbee needs some NIL move in kids lol. 1st time I've ever seen a rebuilding Tiger Roster. The last Tiger team to not make the playoffs was I think 2000 or 2001. I think this team gets 2nd or 3rd. Next season will be rough but hopefully help is on the way.

Help should start to come in next year, although people will still need to keep their expectations in check.

If a certain kid with really strong Silsbee ties chooses to play at Silsbee the year after next, the Tigers could be as good as they've ever been. May have a legit three headed monster on the court again.

Bridge City only lost by 4 points to Silsbee last year with all of their “super stars!” What was the excuse then? It’s sad that when Silsbee is on top, the fans are die hard but let them lose one game and look, they get kicked to the curb. What a shame! Half of the stands got up and left in the middle of the 4th quarter because BC controlled that game until the end. How embarrassing for those boys. Silsbee isn’t a bad team, BC was just the better team, and 2 of the 4 quarters, weren’t their best.

Question. What score is the more accurate score when making the assessment of the two teams last year? The 55-51 score or the 72-55 score?

BTW, Silsbee has lost 16 games this year which is the most losses in a season in over 25 years. So not making excuses for the fans, but it will take some getting used to with how down the Tigers are this season. At least in the perspective of how Silsbee has been over the last 20 years. Tiger fans are pretty spoiled from that 20 year run. Any fan base would be.

I did notice that Bridge City didn't bring many fans themselves. Just sayin.

BTW, I picked BC to win this game by 12. Pretty close pick.

His brother will have graduated by the time he makes it to high school.

If Silsbee looks like they're gonna be legit again by then, he may wat to come join the fun.

Do any local basketball teams travel well? A 45min drive on a Tuesday and an early start time sure don’t help for a fan base.

I 100% agree.

But when calling out another fan base, make sure yours is not doing the same to what you are criticizing. I have seen many times Bridge City fans bail on their teams in the 2nd half of games. Particularly in Silsbee games at BC.
