Highschoolathfan Posted yesterday at 03:19 PM Report Posted yesterday at 03:19 PM Looks like the smallest Louisiana schools at the event did well against bigger Texas schools. Hicks (just over 100 students) beat Buna (about 400 students); Anacoco (about 200 students) beat Little Cypress-Mauriceville (about 1000 students); and Pleasant Hill (about 80 students) lost a 5 point game to Port Neches-Groves (about 1700 students). Those small schools are from Counties/Parishes along the border. Overall a great event for the kids and interest in the game. KF89 1 Quote
BBBB Posted yesterday at 07:33 PM Report Posted yesterday at 07:33 PM BC lost to Yates by 1 point in the playoffs last year. Yates was a better team than Denham Springs in my opinion. With what BC has been working with this season, a 30 point loss was better than what I thought it would be. BC has lacked defense in a terrible way so far. All of BCs losses have stemmed from that and selfishness. If BC would be able to meet up with Denham Springs again in a couple weeks, it would be a different outcome now that we have some defensive contributors. If anyone is bragging about beating BC so far this season, trust me, that is not a brag! BD54 and AggiesAreWe 2 Quote

Evadale, Kountze, LCM, Hamshire-Fannett and Buna are not nearly as good as they have been the last several years. HJ, Onalaska and Bridge City are good teams but were matched up against some of the better teams in this event. Same goes for Nederland, Jasper and East Chambers. In just about every game played (16), the Louisiana teams had the larger enrollment vs. their Texas match up. Yup, Kountze returns 1 player from last years team, and he saw very limited minutes.
