How many players does LM dress out, i heard it was A BUNCH

Not for sure but I counted 73 listed on their program roster.  It was so many that you knew they brought them for the intimidation attempt.  There was no way they were going to get to play unless LaMarque used some kind of platooning system.  Let's see - 22 on a squad (offense and defense) times 4 = 88 players.  They could have almost done it.

Man, I couldn't be happier for the Lumberton football team, coaches, school, and community.  It's nice to see some new blood from SETX making some serious noise in the playoffs.  You all have opened some eyes across the state.  Beating LaMarque!!!  WOW! 

This WO-S fan is rooting for you all the way.  Keep it going!

All the "extra" Lumberton posts on this board shouldn't bother anyone.  You guys have every reason to be spilling over with enthusiam.

We hope not either! But I'll tell you one thing: IF/WHEN our ride is over, our boys eh...young men will sow their oats will all the dignity and class that it sounds like PNG used last night.

Will it hurt? H E L L yeah, it'll hurt! But it will make all of these young men better people for it.

Not ONE of the individuals seen in this picture lined up to shake hands! The player on the ground (#9 I think) had to be pulled up and escorted off the field. #33 threw his helmet and let it roll about 20 yards, while he went to his knees and pounded the ground. #45 sent an unprevoked message to a Raider player, whom he had absolutely NO reason to contact.

If you look closely, you will see some of the staff walking AWAY from the 50.

I said it in a different thread, and I'll say it again here: It's really hard to respect someone who doesn't even respect themselves.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words... ::)

Got a pic of the kid devastated on the ground after a loss. That is so wild . And all this talk about class?

I don't think anyone is blaming the LM players & coaches for feeling devastated after the loss, far from it!!  I think it is more of a case of them not being able to control themselves for a 2 minute walk across the field to congratulate their opponent, before letting their emotions come out. 

I was not at the game, but based on what I have read & heard from those who were in attendance, the behavior of the "Coogah" players was reprehensible from the time they pulled into Stallworth Stadium, and evidently it continued throughout the entire game.  I think the handshake incident was just the icing on the "Poor Sportsmanship" cake.

TC dressed 76 kids according to their program roster. Maybe them and LM should have picked some others to play. ;)

EXACTLY!! I was there before the Raiders stepped on the field for warm-ups and the players were rude and tauting, even going as far as throwing the football into the crowd of our cheerleaders and hitting one, then laughing about it! (Don't worry, a cheer dad and a coach put him in his place)

Hat's off to our Mascot! She was priceless while the Cougar mascot was being vulgar and rude. All it did was make LaMarque look bad. Where is their school pride??

Best of luck to Dayton and Kirbyville. PN-G you are a class act and we would love for you to "hop on board" the L-Train and ride it with us!!!

They have been that way for as long as I can remember watching them play every year in the playoffs against Texas City and so on. It comes with the territory I guess, because The head coach before this guy they have now had to deal with the same issues.

As an educator and a parent I believe sportsmanship should be taught by parents from the time our little ones get interested in sports or any competition.  I remember a very tough loss to a tough WOS team back in 1999.  My oldest son was in first grade and our neighbor was on that PNG team.  As we began our walk to our car after the game my son was angry and hanging his head.  I promptly stopped walking and told him to look up at the PNG pressbox.  I told him the words up there are not there just for decoration.  You're a PNG Indian and you will hold your head up high and show your PRIDE no matter if we win or we lose. The players did their best so be proud of them. You will act with HONOR which means being humble when you win and being respectful when you lose. You shake your opponents hand and say "Good game!"  That way our TRADITION will continue to be worthy of being passed down.  He's now a freshman at PNG and I'm proud to say that I think our TRADITION is in good hands and will be for years to come.

Thats awsome, just so happens I had that same talk with my L-Train son this very season only we were leaving the PNG stadium. (that was the '1' in the 11-1) PNG shows sportsmanship in the 'L' column as well as the 'W'. Congrats on a great season guys!

Yep!  PNG is class act.  Best sportsmanship I saw all year was when a Lumberton player tackled their "Hammer" and got the worst of the deal.  Saw a PNG player help him towards the sideline when it was obvious he had his bell rung.  Great hit but even greater sportsmanship!
