Until you see those teams play I would not under rate them. Tatum and Mart very well could do it, but we will never know.

True...we will never know. I'm not trying to sell them short and I know they have a very high talent level. It's just not a fair comparison to some schools that suit out 3 times as many players.

I f you think about it how many true players do you have on a football team. You know the game breakers.....maybe 10? Every team has game breakers and can play football. Size of the team does not really matter.

In almost every poll I see I think to myself "Man...it would great to see a matchup of the #1 team VS the #2 team!"  Even the people of Mart would have to agree that a Mart win over Katy would be a bigger upset than Appalachian State over Michigan!

Mart plays Iron Man football. That's the difference between Katy and the other large schools. Most, if not all the players only play one-way in the larger schools. So to knock Mart from being at the top of the list only goes to show ignorance. People forget that these kids take the field on both sides of the ball.

I have no problem with them being at the top...I understand that they play both ways.  In a poll it looks like the pollsters are trying to say they could beat the teams below them. All I'm getting at is ... they probably won't beat Katy etc. playing both ways. I wouldn't call that ignorance. ???

Thats exactly why a 2A would lose to a 5A.  The players would be dead tired by the end of the 3rd quarter and the 5A would wear them completely out.

Quality depth makes a lot of difference.  If you are sending in a less talented sub or playing your starters on offense and defense it will start to show when your opponent sends in a good bench player or his starters only play on one side of the ball.

The greater Houston area has close to 40% of the total number of 5A schools in the state and fill up 10 of the 32 total districts.  Districts 15 and 16 in Region II and Districts 17 through 24 in Region III.
