Shelbyville just couldn't get the run game going in the first half only picking up 3 first downs in 1st half. Shepherd used their run game to basically keep the field position advantage, finally getting a score mid way thru 2nd Q. Shelbyville made some great defensive adjustments in 2nd half to shut down Shepherd's run game. The Dragons finally got their run game going thanks to a 96 yard TD run which opened up the passing game for them. Shelbyville star basketball player Jordan Boykins, who plays QB, showed off his arm talents with some nice throws particularly on 3rd down, moving the Dragons on another scoring drive early in 4th. Dragon defense was able to keep the Pirates at bay the remainder of the game. Solid win for 2A Shelbyville over 4A Shepherd. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
