They should, Sumlin is probably one of the better coaches in the country ..hes sure better then alot of coaches with jobs

Is he?  If I'm not mistaken, his best years at UH and aTm were with someone else's recruits.  He seems to disenfranchise some of his own recruits.  Don't see him getting a top job. Just my opinion.

He's not?? I mean how many coaches would love a winning season every year with a bowl game?? Not to many doing that,..plus he made A&M relevant again, before he got there A&M was a avg football program. Don't forget hes the reason A&M fans feel 10+ wins is a norm now (think about that for a sec)

??? Hope you are being sarcastic.  He had one 10 win season, with previous staff's players.

I’m being serious,,and that’s my point before he got there, 10wins wasn’t even a serious expectation there...He’s raised the bar at A&M is all I’m saying, and he should be a sought after coach..

Just a difference of opinions.  But I still don't know how one 10 win season, six years ago, equates to making 10 win seasons the new norm.

Just listen to the rumblings in College Station, and how 8+ wins aren't good enough anymore , which is the reason he's gone now, you know ..so obviously the bar is raised and they feel they should have 10+ wins a season + fight for conference championships ..

I have been around a looonnnng time.

Sumlin accomplished his 10 win season with future all pro linemen from Mike Sherman’s regime.

He had the most dynamic offensive football player in history.

He had 12th Man, Kyle Field, the largest, greatest home field advantage in CFB

This first year fired up the Aggie fan base and changed their hope and EXPECTATIONS.

The slope started downward.

He continued to get Top 10 Recruiting classes.

New assistant coaches

The slide continues.

Over and over and over again every year.

Sumlin could not handle the culture and bring their expectations back down to Earth.

Now it Jimbo’s turn, let’s see

The expectations on Jimbo are already higher than anything Sumlin faced.

I hope he likes beer and can find the “Chicken Ranch”!

Hey, I am no expert, but do know a few thing about CFB played in Texas, facts or fiction.

”This ain’t last year”

one year older

one year wiser

still can’t fix stupid

Couldn't you say that for just about every major program?

Based on who the majority of his wins were against, he'd be a hell of an FCS coach.

As for bowl wins -if you ain't first, you're last- some teams get motivated for bowl games, some do not. Unless you're in the Final Four, they are meaningless.

Don’t need to prove anything Sunshine Aggie pumper!!

Your frame of reference was

1) coaching community

2) sec network

3) later changed to ESPN U

My job is to stay home and watch sports or murder mysteries all day long.

Got your chicken feet ready, I assume you want mayo to dip them.

These are Fighting chickens so there not you normal Asian Market chicken feet

Today is Pearl Harbor Day

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
