I remember one year I want to say Katy lost like 50-0 to the Woodlands and lost to Cinco Ranch in district and still crushed everybody in the playoffs on the way to a state championship. It's going to be very tough for them in D1 in the region though.

Katy will be fine.....opening the season AT Westlake, vs Klein Collins and at the Woodlands is like opening the season with Regional championship, state semi's....and state finals. They are still looking for the right combination on defense.....I wouldn't bet against them come playoff time.

Westlake was a D1 finalist....still undefeated vs Texas Team...lost their 2 offensive weapons in the Katy game....lost without them to a team from Nevada

Klein Collins hammered everyone's Region 3 favoriter Lamar

Woodlands beat two state champs back to back(Katy,George ranch)

This non district schedule will help Katy in the long run.

Only team I see playing with them RIGHT NOW in D1 is Dickinson.......but all that could change come playoff time.....

In other words, I would have been more concerned about this team if they would have opened the season with Kingwood, Travis, Alief Elsik etc....winning every game by 50. After last seasons epic team, they would have had a false sense of confidence and would've laid an egg their first tough game in the playoffs......They will go into the playoffs 8-2 and VERY dangerous if they stay healthy.

I hope Katy have a lot of growing pains they always say once you lose more than 2 games I takes a lot of confidence out of you

I'm around these guys daily......they are trying to write their on chapter in Katy history....very hungry and don't like the fact that they were written off after non-district play.

CR not that good, they were supposed to do that.

Cinco lost to Cy Ranch and Katy. Cinco is usully decent, but is always overshadowed by Katy. Their atleast average to slighty above average. Most years they go a couple rounds deep in playoffs.

Got to go to one of their games live. Fan support is amazing!

The fan support is like no one I have ever seen.

In years past (2011-2014) - I have been to 3 games @ Rhodes stadium (packed house and lawn seating full)and I have seen them play at The Woodlands, Tully Stadium and the Berry Center (visitors side shoulder to shoulder on each game).

Their run through signs are original, uniquely funny and impressive.  The parents and family members line up outside the locker rooms before the team comes out to start the game and before the second half. Their 300+ member band blasts multiple songs while the opposing team is on offense..EVERY TIME.

They have it down. Winning helps - but it is crazy.

Katy support is what some PN-G fans try to claim to have.  It is not even close, (imo).

I've seen Katy in Beaumont vs. West Brook.  I have no idea what happened, but most of the top level at the Butch was empty.  I guess the Sea of Red didn't want to travel to Beaumont....

PN-G's fan support was better than Katy, at least that particular year..  I haven't seen Katy play this year.

I remember that...Saturday night game, threat of weather/storms kept a lot of people back...weather turned out perfect right before kick.....pretty sure PNG didn't have as far as a drive.

Look it's not the coaches making the plays it's the players and discipline

I have 2 problems with this statement.

1. Who do you think teaches them discipline on the field?

2. Do you really think coaching has nothing to do with how the team plays? Coaching is more important even than the talent is.

    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
    • See why I don't trust my Hogs?
    • Come on dude, don’t take anything away from the kids on the field. If you want to talk uncharacteristic, we made what 3 or 4 errors in game one. Y’all had 2 EARNED runs.  Defense is normally our strong suit. Your ace didn’t strike out a single one of our kids. Like I said also, you did not out hit us in game 1. Hell you barley out hit us in game 2. We had all the uncharacteristic walks. Josh pitched a hell of a game is what made that game what it was.
