At Monday night school board meeting contracter said new stands & consession stand should be ready two weeks before seasion starts so varsity should be playing at new stadium in Jasper

Good grief.  No problem with Jasper, but Diboll over Tatum?  I'll believe that when I see it.

I like Barbay as a coach and I hate to criticize him, but wanting to take Silsbee off of the schedule and shrugging off WOS isn't indicative of sound decision making. We need those two on the schedule

Jasper JV squad was very good so should be good on the varsity level.

Tatum's JV squad was on varsity by district and most started and some were all-district. 

The left overs on JV won district. 

Freshman won district too.

I haven't heard anything about a feud... I HAVE heard the quote that he can't keep getting beat by 50 and keep a job... But that's just how it goes in that series. You win some and you lose some and sometimes you win by a lot and sometimes you lose by a lot. We've taken our whoopin's from Jasper and didn't quit the series over it.

Jasper never had a chance in that game because a few of their players were hurt going in, with Tiger Williams being one of them. We wouldn't have won the game with everyone healthy anyway. Coach Barbay is right, but his point is obvious. They need to fix that defense for him to avoid losses like that one. I've been saying that for the last 10+ years.

WOS and Newton have the blueprints on how to do that, so we need to study up and become a defense-first football team. It worked great for 20 years with Walkoviak and we should have never strayed from it...

2 years ago you guys put up 43 pts against Henderson in a third round playoff game...and lost by 3 scores. If that kind of thing happens very often...yeah, you need to fix the D. Oh well...good luck to the Bulldogs in the upcoming campaign.

      He actually had a pretty solid year for a sophomore starting in that district. I can assure you, it hasn't hurt his recruiting at all and that will only improve with the move back to the Wack.

      If Crumedy eventually has bigger aspirations than being in Jasper, every aspect of the program will be looked at when someone interviews him for any job. He knows that. The mindset needs to be that any time someone wears a Jasper uniform, that they're doing everything they possibly can to win. It matters.

      You said a lot there. Truthfully, that is the root of the issue. Who cares what a kid thinks about how coaches are running a program? Kids play, coaches coach. For some reason, parents have this backward in a lot of places and its wreaking havoc.
