Looks like Kyle field on TV right now.

6th Street makes everything better.

Actually we're feeling pretty good about our team, and not just because of tonight. Please do keep trying to take digs at us though, whatever makes you feel better. Enjoy your team's continued success and putting that "T" in different places

Looks like Kyle Field.

A&M fans had to wait for 2 hours + for  the Kick Off and the stands were still full - FOR LAMAR.  How many Texas fans would have stayed for that long - I think not near as many.

Old Timer, try to make one post without mentioning Ags/UT. It can be done. This is a BYU/UT thread.

Game Synopsis

Offense – D

The offensive line play was terrible as expected. OL was incapable of providing RB any room to run. Only until OC Watson had loosened the Cougars up with the short passing game, there were no positive rushing yards. Too many three and outs. Coach Watson must find a way to extend drives. QB play was average and really did not hurt the offense overall. Swoopes was adequate but it still seems that the speed of the game has not slowed for him at all. His decision making was 90% spot on. Receiver play average with Harris again being the standout. Why does M. Johnson continue to be a no-show after coaches have been drooling over him. Special Teams I give a F. Another missed FG and a fumble

Defense –C

Played lights out in the first half considering no offensive help. Second half different story with missed tackles and players in he wrong spot. DC Bedford makes no excuses and said performance was unacceptable. This was even when the reporter tried to blame poor offensive production. Coach Bedford exemplifies team play.

Overall

Was I happy with the loss?  HELL NO

Team is still playing better than in any game we lost last year. I feel better this morning than after the Alamo Bowl.

UCLA next – Optimistic to see some improvements.  Coaches coach better after losses. I hope that we get the suspended players back, someday.

1-1 with 10 games to play. Most rational UT fans new this year would be tough. Thought they played well on defense for 3/4 of the game. They just need to work on that other 1/4. Lots of positives on defense.

Offense was flat out terrible. Turnovers, no push up front, no running game. Tougher fix on offense. Not going to be very good.

"It's an embarrassment," Strong said. "It's an embarrassment to this program. It's an embarrassment to this university. And I knew it, and I didn't do anything about it, and I take responsibility and all the blame for this loss."

"Strong said he sensed his team was going to be embarrassed again after watching them during warm-ups.

"Just the whole demeanor. Just how they took the field. Just how they carried themselves," Strong said. "If you've been around long enough, you know. I knew that. I told them that before we ever went out. I said we're not ready to play. When you're not ready to play, this is a good football team, and we're probably going to go out here and get embarrassed."

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
