Lamar Basketball banned from postseason play

The good news is that you identify those 'one or two" students who are lacking in their academic work. You make sure they get up and attend classes and monitor their academic  progress with with "their" advisors. Some schools have their own personal academic advisors who travel with the teams and students have their own personal laptops to complete assignments in hotel, airplane, or whatever.

Especially if its only one or two students.

Based on the APR rankings released yesterday, it seems to be more than 1 or 2 athletes.

Remember, an APR of 925 is equal to a 50% graduation rate. Lamar was 915.

What you must remember is if a player leaves the program or doesn't finish school it counts against the program. It's not necessarily the guys on the roster making horrible grades.

Hmmm? (1) Coaches ask players to leave (transfer) from  their programs every year to make room for new players

UNLV had several players to leave their program just this year.

But anyway, I look at it as a wake up call.

I agree, but ALL were on the Roster at some point to get those horrible grades. The Knight Regime doesn't get off that easy. ;)

Exactly!!! And again, kids leave their respective programs every year. Last year the number was about 300 and I hear this year its up to 500 transfers. So programs lose kids every year. The good thing is that Lamar will have to implement better recruitment of student athletes and MOST importantly , put academic programming in place to help these kids.
