The only knowledge I need about my team is they opened a can of whoop a** on Vidor.  The conversation begins and ends there.  I mean, can you name any teams in Beaumont that beat SC?
hey, we acknowledged that loss and gave credit to SC. we didn't whine about enrollment numbers like you did with G-town which by the UIL's COUNT ACTUALLY WAS A BIT SMALLER SCHOOL.
There is a distinct advantage schools have during their 1st year dropping down.  We saw it with Humble as well.  The real G-Town will stand up this year.  SC was ROBBED of our birth rite.  The UiL added to the pain by setting us up against G-Town in round 2.  That game should have been to determine who went to state.  Neverland and Angleton had no business playing after week 2.  SC would have stomped either squad.
Whatever you say, besides, SC would have got crushed by Guyer in the state championship.

Well no one will ever know, but I wonder about that occasionally. I think Heard would have found it a bit more challenging trying to run circles around SC's defense, just taking sideline to sideline speed into account. However, that Guyer offense could block like none I've seen in high school so maybe he could have run between the takles successfully. Aside from team speed Gtown had the best D in 4a IMO, which leads me to believe SC would have done better on offense against Guyer comparable to Gtown. Who knows, could have been closer than you think if it had happened.

Im only basing my opinion off of what happened between SC and GTown. I dont think anyone from Region 3 was gonna beat Guyer that day.

SC gave up nearly 1000 yds offense against vidor and. GT. Guyer would have scored 60 points. The qb for gt picked sc apart and guyers qb was a stud and would have done the same. Guyer also has a top notch coach to go with lots of talent and high enrollment. Heck they played for the 5a title just a couple of years ago.

Huh?  What team do you support?

Also your name says it all about you.  Richard a.k.a. "d_ck."  Cranium a.k.a "head."

I am a PNG fan. Summer Creek has a lot of talent with the recruitment from Humble High. The problem I see with SC as I watched them 3 times this past year is Discipline. When they are getting beat, they lose their composure.
You saw the Georgetown game? That's the only time they trailed all year. I'm just asking, I saw them play three times too and never saw that. Are you talking about the varsity? Vidor didn't lose composure and fought hard but once Dayton was trailing they just went ahead and laid down, throw in the arguing amongst themselves and that's what i would call losing composure.
i have to agree on both of coug14's points. Sc was the first good team dayton saw all year and they rolled over dead. It reminded me of when dayton played crosby earlier in the year.

Hmm, when SC lost to GTown I only heard good things about Gtown from the SC players and coaches. They were really impressed, and although they were disappointed about the early loss they enjoyed the challenge. The varsity football team had mature athletes for the most part, I can understand "lack of discipline" coming from the sub varsity players (part of why they aren't on varsity). I will admit the baseball team was a bit hot headed at times, so you can say what you want about them its fair game.

Totally disagree with you here.

Gtown exposed the SC defense, which was weak at the line of scrimmage and in pass coverage.    SC line play on both sides of the ball was below average to bad.  The pass defense was equally as bad.    SC succeeding against defenses that struggled to match up against the bull dawgs speed.  When they met a team that's wide outs were not only disciplined enough to block down field, but run routes....they struggled to keep them out of the endzone.    This is typical with the type of team SC has.  i have seen it dozens of times with Humble over the years.  Speed, and no technique.    They tend to put to much pressure on their LB's to create disruption because their line doesn't get the pressure required.  They end up bringing 6 sometimes 7 man blitzes leaving HUGE gaps in coverage.

You can put 11 guys on the field that will blow past you at a track meet.  But if your kids don't understand cap coverage, and you use your LB's as the disruptive force on just about ever play.... Then you are going to pay the price agains teams that are disciplined and patient enough to let the game come to them.    Most teams SC is going to shut down, because they are probably more athletic then most teams...but like a lot of Humble's previous teams....they struggle against coached up kids.    Georgetown reminded me  a lot of The Woodlands teams of the last 3-4 years.

Everything you just said I pretty much agree with 100%, that's why I said that Guyer probably would have been able to run over us for the most part. I still believe that Gtown outmatched all 4a schools they played man to man, except Guyer had a guy that Gtown couldn't quite keep in check. I'm sure you saw the state championship game, Gtown was dominating Guyer in the first half, then in the second half they let Heard do what he does best.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
