  1. If the Rebels play smart, they will be able to beat West Hardin...........It will be very tough to slow down Copeland in West Hardin. He gets away with everything at home.
  2. That is the thing about Spurger, they have been playing very well with the starters out. I am sure it will be a good game.
  3. We can all agree with you there, but you also saw HI get the same treatment. Beaumont officials will not come to HI and it looks like some of the Galveston officials don't want to be here either.
  4. I ejected myself at Spurger a couple of years ago, because they were so sorry.
  5. I sure hope that the home tradition continues because WH can use it. We got a tough Evadale at home on Tuesday then our last away game against Sabine Pass, then wrap up with a 3 game home stint. I was unable to make it to the High Island game, but I heard that the refs were terrible for both teams. My buddy said it looked more like a backyard pick up game than one with officials, lots of fouls that didn't get called on either side. I know the usual grip is that the home team gets the advantage, not this game. Congrats High Island!!! Come Oilers, time to get in gear!!! As all of the perspective supporters of their home teams, I can assure you that High Island is the only team that does not get the advantage of the HOME town officials. Some of us have had this discussion. Copeland, yes he is an outstanding player, gets away with murder at home and the Bobcats have the same advantage in HD. Spurger, I don't know what they have show up most of the time to call their games, but their officials are not going to do anyone a favor.......except Spurger. In Sabine Pass, you always get the three blind mice. Evadale will not lose a close game at home. All of this is to say, take care of the ball on offense, don't through it away and make every shot count. We are all big boys here and we know how the refs are on the road. When you lose a close game, it is easier to blame the refs. When you talk with the Coach after the game and actually see the turnover ratios and discuss the overall decision making of the players, the refs are just a side note. High Island has been in every game through the first round, and have the toughest hill to climb with 4 of the last 5 games on the road. Sabine Pass has been everything that each one of their players have posted on this site, almost every single day since before basketball started. West Hardin is West Hardin......Copeland is their man and they need to find a few more guys to take the ball to the hoop. Evadale is much improved and will continue to get better. HD is getting better and I still think they hang onto 1st or 2nd in District with Spurger. Spurger has probably impressed me the most this year, with two guys going down last week, the Pirates have continued to show their teamwork and ability to get the Win. The game in High Island last night was a very good game for the Cardinals. They played well and made their shots from the perimeter, they need to a little post action if they are going to when on the road. Good Luck to All. Go CARDINALS!!!
  6. I heard football at Sam Houston last night.
  7. Spurger has a very good team. They play well together and have proven that they can play each week. The obviously have more depth than everyone had predicted early on. Every team needs a good 6, 7 & 8 man to come off the bench and make a positive impact on the court. With the teo injuries, Spurger has shown that their bench can step up and play. Good Jobs boys, keep up the good work. I guess your victory in Evadale proves that if you take care of business, then you can't blame the refs. Everyone knows how the refs are usually homers in Evadale. lol.....
  8. HD has been playing well, and with the loss of Trey they have been able to play as a team and make their adjustments. I still feel that HD will take the district. Spurger has a very talented team, and seam to be able to pick up the slack with out 2 of their stars on the floor. HD by 7
  9. Yes the game was in High Island.
  10. deja'vu ;D ;D This District is pretty neck and neck from top to bottom. West Hardin will come to High Island on Friday and maybe the Cardinals will be able to play them close and come out with the victory. D25A will have to turn and burn through the rest of Ditrict play in order to compete past the first round of the playoffs. I don't know if SP was on their game last night or not, but I do know that HI was not. Attitude is everything and Sabine Pass played with a Win attitude and HI did not. Good Luck Friday Night Cardinals!
  11. Through it all, missed opportunities and turnovers are something that the Cardinals need to correct if we are going to win the close ones. Whoknows, you need to take a little more control in the second half and drive the ball to create more opportunities down low. Take Charge of the cituation! I am sure Coach Neely would appreciate it. Please correct me if I am wrong Coach. Give em heck Friday night! Go CARDINALS!!!!
  12. Youth is a wonderful thing, and Evadale has plenty of it. They are moving in the right direction.
  13. It was a very good game by both teams. The seconds on that old clock don't count down like they are supposed to, but hey there were plenty of chances and missed opportunities last night for the Cardinals. The District Race has HEATED UP and it should be a real fight to the end. Cardinals, shake it off and get ready for the pirates on Friday night. You have given yourselves a chance to win two close games. Make your adjustments this week play with the same intensity. Go CARDINALS!!!
  14. Good Post Rebel Yeller! The boys must have fun and enjoy what they are doing on the court, or they will not have success. We will see you this evening. Go CARDINALS!!!
  15. TIME OUT............................................... Gotta do something to stop this 6 - 0 run!!!!!!!!!!! Cardinals in a close one, but it is always hard to win in Evadale.
  16. Their big guy is hurt, I spoke with the Coach last night. ACL.
  17. The district will be full of good games. Big Sandy will be the front runner until they get beat.
  18. FYI: Division 1 District 24 A & District 25 A are listed below in alphabetical order. Place them how you want. I just wanted everyone to know which District they were talking about. District 24 A Broaddus Burkeville Colmesneil Martinsville Pineland West Sabine Zavalla District 25 A Evadale High Island Hull-Daisetta Sabine Pass Saratoga West Hardin Spurger
  19. The first District match ups should be very interesting. Evadale will have their hands full with the Oilers, HD is heavily favored over the Cardinals, but they will have a battle on their hands as well and although SP has been playing pretty good ball, they will have to be hitting on all cylinders to beat the Pirates. All three games could go either way. Good Luck to Everyone. Go CARDINALS!!!
  20. yea "maby"...and if number 12 didnt give cody open shots he would average about 2 pts instead of his 30...theres many ways to look at it...if young kept the ball every time and shot 50 % he would lead the team in scoring...but i "wud" say that #12 is a HUGE part of codys scoring...he cant shoot well and knows it...but he does his job, which is to get cody open...brandon keep dishin and cody keep knockin em down!!!...the win is much more important than stats...if last years team thought that way they would have gone alot further :-\...and this is my last post on this thread...GO WARRIORS!!! Very well put Waa-town! It sounds like the 07-08 Warriors need to get over it and support the Warriors this season and hope that they can do better. Good Luck Warriors in District play.
