  1. Fair question, We have just taken so much stuff about this I get on edge about it. Some years the schedule was better than some.My last year was 2006,we played a great schedule, went undefeated and allowed 6 points.Believe me these kids are excellent and we have had great coaches many who are now varsity coaches around the state. Some players who have gone through mms are Hunter Gonzales, Preston Armstrong,Zach Sonnier,Zach Blanchard all who started as soph and freshman this season on the varsity. Through the years there have been players like Billy Ford Ty Ford, Josh Rankin,Buster Ascol, Beau Hale Jake Rowell ,Jonathan and Alan Friend all college players,Jake and Beau in baseball but they played football at mms. This is just off the top of my head, I know I am forgetting some, and there are to many varsity starters to mention, and don't forget this is coming from a very small school.Sorry to come off the way I did ,but when a staff and players work as hard as we did and put as much in it as the parents did, when people discredit it well that can work on you. I have been a player and a coach and have studied the game all my life because I love it, Coach Burke, his staff, and players are legit and didn't back into anything.
  2. Sorry sixman, using the words easiest road and undisciplined can never be used with Coach Burke or the MMS program. There has been every excuse known to man used to discredit the MMS football records. The truth is no one works harder, coaches in more detail,or instills more of a positive winning spirit in our kids than MMS, add supportive parents to that list and you get great results. Like I've said your opinion is your right to have, but mine is kids none of our players at MMS ever wanted the easy road, they wanted to win.
  3. LCM is in a great position to hire an excellent coach. I don't know who has applied but I have talked about Coach Burke, Josh Rankin is an excellent coach and young man, Coach Crouch is a great coach, as is Coach Bolton. Coach Ed Dyer an LCM guy would go a great job, as would others.I believe most all coaches are great at x and o's, but its the unseen things about a guy that separates the good ones from the great ones, let's hope LCM figures this one out. By the way Coach D Williams if you are keeping up with this, thanks for giving me my first chance to do something I love.
  4. Thanks guys,I wasn't looking for praise just wanted people to be fair. Skipper MMS ran the same O and D .In 2006 Coach Burke installed the complete varsity playbook and sets O and D,we where handed a paired down playbook but Coach Moody saw the kids could absorb it and gave us the go ahead. We went undefeated and only allowed 6 points all season, MMS also went undefeated this year. You always make good points are you a coach? Bellison, thanks man that means alot coming from you,I know you are light years ahead of me when it comes to knowing the game? Hey Mr. M how is Steve doing, you better show at the baseball games this year.
  5. My name is Larry Brister,I will say what I have to say using my real name.I've coached with Coach Burke for 3 years, he is an excellent coach and man. He has a great feel and mind for the game, and he knows how to get the kids to play at another level. Everyone has a right to their opinion, bellison is also a coach I respect and knows the game and a good friend. He gave his opinion and used his real name I respect that. The fact is 95% of posters here if they were put on a board couldn't draw up a 50, 46, split, couldn't tell a secondary coverage or if that coverage had a robber. Is that DT in a 3,2 or1 tech,is that end a 9, 6, or 7, did the OL trap or combo, you get the idea. But it amazes me how many know exactly what LCM needs or feels they should be a part of hiring him. I took some classes that relate to law in high school and I watch alot of Judge Judy on TV, but I would never go to Tommy Gunn's or Jim Bearden's office and tell them who they should or shouldn't hire. But I guess it just gets to me when a good coach gets dogged just for applying for a job. If you think he shouldn't be hired , that's your right, but when you attack a man's ability that you don't know , at least be man and use your real name.
  6. I counted 108 names on that list! In a eight team district with each team starting 22 different players, and you know they all don't,that is 176 starters in district and 108 made some form of all district. With 4 teams going to the playoffs and this many all distict picks it just drives an old former player and coach crazy. ;D
  7. Hey bellison! This is Larry B. How are you doing man? Next time you are in town give me a holler,I have some good cigars in the humidor, and we can talk some football!!
