But as this year goes I will root for Region III,if its a SETX team or whoever it is.
we played in the championship last year.... I always root for region III teams... even if its FW. ;)
Oh yeah, I forgot about Dayton. ;) But all kidding aside, I am looking forward to the playoffs this year and some good football outta Region III. Good luck to all.

Friendswood Fan... Does it look like Sante Fe will be the #2 seed in division II out of your district. In comparison to 20-4A and 24-4A... NO WAY do the Indians go undefeated through that district (and I am a PN-G alum). Just way too much talented teams in that district from top to bottom. The bottom teams in 24-4A are WAY better than 20-4A. Angleton is the top team in Region III, that being said, on any given night anybody can beat anybody.
Sad thing about Sante Fe is that after that 6-0 start, they are endangered of not making the playoffs at all. They play at Angleton tonight and then Pearland Dawson next week and Dawson may need to win that one if they lose to Texas City tonight. They really need to win at Angleton, but the cards are stacked against them. Angleton really wants this game to win the district outright and claim the #1 seed.
Thanks for the info... Let me know if this is correct... Angleton probably wins outright (Division II #1 seed) Dawson probably finishes 2nd in district (Division I #1 Seed) Friendswood finishes 3rd in district. (Division I #2 Seed) Who is the 4th place team, that team would be the Division II #2 Seed? Thanks for replying.
I thought they said Sante Fe would be their 4th team.
I believe they have to win one of their last 2 to make the playoffs.

 7. Not sure if it was a group of people. I recall one guy with a sign, but it said 3rd class.

What's up with that? LOL! It's all in fun--no harm done! Thanks for the support from the PN-G fans!
Wrong about what? It was idiotic as was most of his post. He sounded like a John Madden clone, "Blah blah blah, well a team that plays as a team and scores more points blah blah blah than the other team, they usually win.........." Not sure if this would clarify him as an "idiot" but definitely a homer. The next thing you PNG guys are going to tell us is that they take their vitamins and say their prayers, read to the little kids at schools, do charity work, sign for the deaf....etc. What don't they do?
Last I checked they haven't figured out how to part the sea or turn water into wine.......YET  ;)
But I am sure they are close.  ;D

 11.
I will take PNG over Friendswood any day.  They definitely have proven to be winners and a bette tradition than the prairie they call Friendswood.  I am not sure where anyone got the idea that Friendswood is god's country.  If anyone knows anything about Angleton, they know that is team anyone will have to go through to get out of this region in their bracket.
Are we talking places to live or tradition in football? Because if it is tradition then PNG has us beat. If we are talking places to live.....well thats a different story.
 12.

I don't think anybody is disrespecting PNG or Central let alone Angleton. A good healthy dose of opposing views makes for good conversation don't be so sensitive just because other people are as proud of their team as you are. Roll with the punches and you might have fun ! Smack talk is a prerequisite for this board !
exactly. Smack talking is what its about mostly on this site. We as fans support our teams and type about our positives as much as possible. Regarding PNG. PNG is a TEAM and they put forth a complete TEAM effort. We don't have just one sensational player on the field that everyone talks about, like you have at Angleton with Diggs, remember, there is no " I " in "TEAM" !!! PNG has a entire team of sensational players !! It takes a team to win and not just one player. That's what it sounds like to me about Angleton, you put all your wins on the shoulders of one player. At PNG we start 22 players on O and D and they function as a well oiled machine. All the players on the sidelines can step in at anytime and fill the shoes of the starters as needed. Our coaches teach the fundamental of being a TEAM !!! No single player is put on a pedestal. These players at PNG are humble and smart.  They are the hardest working team in the state of TEXAS and it shows and is proven every game !!!
No disrespect for Central from 24-4A, we know they can bring it. Haven’t seen PNG play and you obviously haven’t seen Angleton play. Yes they have the superstar Diggs and he is a beast but you also have to worry about Franks, Foster and Josey. They also went 3 rounds deep last year and lost to a tough Central team in a close one and returned 18 starters from that same team. IMO, they are the team to beat in Region 3 regardless of which division they go into. Good to finally know that there is no “I” in team. It is also good to know that PNG understands that you have to start 22 players on O and D.  Has this been a problem in the past? Good luck to the “I” ndians in the playoffs.
 13.
20-4A has proven that they can play with 24-4A in recent years. Lumberton beat lamarque, PNG beat texas city. So did ned a couple of years ago. Central beat Angelton and came within a point of Friendswood last year. Dayton beat them good on the way to state a couple of years ago. Really they are not all that impressive in recent years though the history is rich. PNG and Central will give them all fits. Trust that one. The only reason you 24-4A fans are frequent to this site is because you know we are the big threat!
I have a lot of respect for what the Jags did last year and I will be the first to say I didn't think they could do it. I didn't think they could beat Angleton and they did. Will I make that mistake again, no. Would I like to see Friendswood and Central play again, absolutley; probably in the Region Final again. Will we get to see it, hopefully. I would have also liked to see an Angleton/ Central matchup but that looks very unlikley.
 14.
AT Wildcat I was at that T City/PNG game earlier in pre-dist and watched the Indians in my Bronco Purple put it on the Stingarees.T City did not get 1 FIRST Down until the 3rd quarter.PNG miscues late was the culprit at the Reservation.I'm no rocket scientist but there are teams from SETX that can slow down the run-Honestly.Here is some stats:The T City duo of Branch/Harper rushed for combined 60 yds.on 29 carries 0 tds.against PNG.The duo rushed for 212 yds.on 42 carries w/3 tds.vs.Angleton.Branch had 83 yds on 20 carries-Harper had 129 yds.on 22 carries.Friendswood vs.Dayton the Mustangs rushed for 110 yds.on 39 carries.Cole 20/74 yds.Nuff said.
Ok so they can slow down the run. But can they beat Dayton?
 15. Not a wildcat. Seen them this year and they are very good. Haven't seen PNG so I can't say if they could or couldn't beat em. Would love to see the game though.
 16. La Marque has to beat Manvel this Friday which will be a good game. Too many scenarios to narrow down who is going. The only thing certain is death, taxes and Angleton has secured a playoff berth.
 17.

Was just looking at the schedules in 24-4A. Important district since there is a strong chance that both teams out of this district will represent region III. It looks like in the last week that the Lamarque vs Friendswood game will settle 4Th place. If La Marque and Friendswood both win this week, then in week 10 they play each other. Right now Lamarque is one game behind Friendswood, but a La Marque win would create a two way tie and La Marque would go into the playoffs and Friendswood would stay home. That would put BOTH Dawson and Angleton in Division I (GREAT NEWS FOR DAYTON AND PN-G!). Looking at the schedules, it looks like this district is beating up on each other. Angleton is undefeated, but all the other teams have lost to various opponents. With two games left, there looks to be a lot of scenarios left...
Who do think has the upper hand with La Marque and Friendswood ?
I would give the upper hand to Friendswood right now.  ;) Purple you are right too many scenarios left to talk about and you are right about beating up on each other. This district is tough and you can't take anyone for granted. Manvel/Friendswood game went 4OT's last night; great game, luckily Friendswood came out on top. You also have to look at Sante Fe, started 6-0 and lost their last 2 and end the season with Dawson and Angleton; they may not even make the playoffs. La Marque needs to worry about Manvel this Friday.  Texas City has Dawson so who the heck knows. UGH my head hurts thinking about this district. ???
 18. Here is a link to the UIL Playoff Brackets for each division. [Hidden Content]
 19. Didn't say they couldn't be beat. By the way will Central be D1 or D2? I would love to see a Central/Angleton game again.
 20. Angleton is the real deal. They will be tough to beat.
 21. Wow! That is an amazing comeback win. Congrats Bears!
 22. Cole would have made a difference but the outcome would not have changed.Would have been closer but still a loss. Angleton is a very very good team. They have 4 guys who can take it to the house at anytime. There defense is not great but good enough. Right now, don't see a team in Region III that can beat them. No excuses, Angleton was the better team tonight. Good game Cats and Mustangs!
