  1. ill be at the Nederland/Ozen game tonight but ill have my radio listening to the PNG/Lumberton game
  2. well after watching the game tonight again ill second the above statement now off subject one positive ive noticed is defensively this year the defense is doing a much better job at tackling (not nearly as many arm tackles or tackling high this year)
  3. only thing ive got to say is buckle your seat belts we're in for a wild ride in 22-4A the next 4 weeks
  4. 1st off congrats to Port Neches now my thoughts on the game 1st off got to say Jake Hemmings is a beast its amazing PNG didnt run him more earlier in the season as my as my bulldogs go im just not sold on the offense this is the second week in a row that we havent had a td in the second half offense needs to get it together (along with the running game) or teams will sneak up on us
  5. LOL doubt it Vidor did have a few passes completed but their were several that were dropped that could of went for td's
  6. I went to the game tonight Vidor had two pretty good backs and will be a good test for Nederland's run defense next week Neither team had much of a passing game (vidor wr's did drop several passes that could have gone for td's though) i think itll be very interesting however to see how Vidor's defense will handle the passing game of Nederland next week
  7. SLC's not out of it yet they need to step it up though and cut down on the mistakes (turnovers)
  8. End of 1 21-7 Rockwall but SLC is driving
  9. quickly 21-7 Rockwall kickoff return for td
  10. it was on tape delay but i remember that being one of the first 4A games shown around here
  11. actually the French-Permian game was the second championship game to be shown statewide with the first being Converse Judson and Midland Lee from 1983...Speaking of that does anybody remember Channel 6 showing a few years later the WO-S Rockwall championship game from 87 with Dan Gresham up in the booth
  12. And he's not kidding on Roy getting 300 yards on his first 4 touches i was there and remember it quite well the only criticism ive heard on him is that he's not a great inside runner and tries to cut it to the outside too much (IMO he's a great outside runner one of the best ive ever seen) it will get better with time though trust me
  13. Some highlights from Plano vs. Highland Park from 1977, Plano would later go on to beat PNG in the State Finals [Hidden Content]
  14. sportsfan did they combine freshman teams tonight
  15. JV Score:Nederland 28 Silsbee 8
  16. i agree Bass is a good RB does anybody if he's still nursing any injuries or not
  17. im surprised they put in Kirby Bellow over Jordan Landry who was the number 3 QB last year (behind Moshier and Sampere ofcourse) in reference to the lack of the running game vs. Brenham I agree but even GREAT RB's have to have some sort of blocking to get yards I totally disagree with the idea that Roy is a quote unquote so-so RB he'll change your mind once he gets time at RB
  18. The Freshman A game between PNG and Nederland was called due to lightning with about 3 minutes left in the third with Nederland leading 50-18 Freshman B score was PNG 20 Nederland 0
  19. Richard pitched for us and yes that final is correct we got all 6 runs in the 2nd
  20. Central 9 Nederland 6 Final
  21. i believe Fred Melder was the only All American from Nederland from 1959 a few others that i know of Steve Worster Bridge City Joe Washington of Lincoln and Jeff Bergeron of PNG
