  1. Frankly I am embarrassed. What I was witness to tonight was shocking. Pathetic all the way around. I can no longer pull for the pirates. The only way you can argue w me on this, is not having watched this game. Poor poor effort.. I got to jump on the silsbee and Nederland band wagons.... sad day
  2. At this point i'm becoming frustrated. The schedule has definitely cost the pirates. I can handle the losses to Ozen and Ned, but now losing to teams that they are unarguably as good or better than. Coach and schedule are at blame. I'm not writing off the pirates season but three very winnable games we come up short with equally talented kids. I'm very disappointed. They still have a chance at the playoffs but making it much harder than it should be. I would rather a 3-12 start w kids that are battle tested and faced adversity than a 14-1 team that hasn't had to sweat to win. Hope we can learn to close out games before friday. I better pray. :-\
  3. 1-2 after playing the 2 top teams in the district. Not blaming the coach for the unforced to's. The kids had plenty of oppurtunity's to win both games. I'm saying that vidors starting five are as good, Individually, as any other in the district. They just make bad decisions that are costing them close games.
  4. was closer than that before tech foul and intentional fouls at end of game... Vidor ,personel wise, is as good as any team in the district...
  5. This game was difficult to watch... Vidor must have had 30+ unforced turnovers. Ozen wasn't much better. Was well officiated for the most part I thought. Missed a few calls, but wont ever be perfect. Neither team deserved to win tonight but luckily, they were playing each other so one of the two HAD to. doesn't set Vidor back in the district race. Would have been great to steal one of those two games<Ned-Ozen> but are losses you can take. Just got to keep winning the games they are supposed to and then duke it out with LCM and Central. The playoff picture isn't any dimmer after the 1-2 start, just can't suffer any upsets. Vidor can do somethings well but need to start putting it all together. p.s. What happened to Ozen of old?!?! where are there athletes? 5 yrs ago you couldn't have convinced me that was even ozens freshman team!!!
  6. Vidor is the underdog but have a great chance of pulling off an upset. No one in 4a is anywhere near unbeatable... thats a FACT
  7. Short answer.. no. long answer noooooooooooooooo...(d1).. juco etc... ya maybe a handful, haven't seen alot of "special" talent in the area.  :-\
  8. NEDERLAND is OVER-RATED!!! Big time... I like Brian and Ned in general, but seeing them in person for the 1st time this season after all the hype i've heard this year.. I GOTTA cast my vote their direction
  9. Vidor is a good team w much more depth than I realized. Williamson shows up, then vidor probably pulls this one out. First time for me to see Ned this year and I expected a whole lot better team...  Keep playing hard Vidor w out the officials instigating that 6 pt run in the 4th quarter you guys would have been right there. Very Impressed w Vidor's transition into district play from that weak schedule.
  10. The KIDS don't make the schedule and the KIDS won all the games they were supposed to win... Seems that people are bitter that they haven't loss.. Vidor has lost to some of these teams in recent years.. I'm not saying they will win state, or district for that matter but no need to discredit what the kids have done so far because the COACH put together a weak schedule. At least wait for them to get blown out to rip them apart, and tell them how over-rated they are. Then I'd be right with you guys.. As I am just as against THAT weak of a schedule.
  11. ya exactly..10th... Wow...w three district teams ahead of them... Cant say that is a great rating..
  12. How can Vidor be the most over-rated?? Haven't seen or read anything giving them a good review.. If anything I would vote Vidor under-rated... Good athletes around a great scorer in Williamson, makes for a team that is able to pull off some upsets this. And I EXPECT them to.
  13. Vidor CAN play with Ned. These kids have played each other before and they and coach English KNOW that this game will not be a freebie... I expect a battle.
  14. Its not impossible, but Vidor would have to play terrible. I expect them to be sharp in there last prep game before district. HF is an improved 3a team, but on the right night Williamson could probably outscore thier entire team.
  15. Vidor... don't think I have ever seen a schedule that soft in 4a.... They are going to have a hard time adjusting in the district opener against Nederland. I guess they wanted to go ahead and gaurantee some W's this year. WILL hurt them come district. The sad thing is, they have a legit squad this year.
  16. Whats going to happen if Big Ned pulls this one off? Will the earth continue to spin? I'll be there pullin for an upset.... Go get 'em Big Bryan >
  17. With or without Williamson, Vidor should handle Milburn. I'll be shocked to see Milburn go INTO Vidor and come out with a win. They still have Sims, Little Williamson, and new comer Terrance smith.... Those three should more than enough for Vidor, if the defensive intensity is there.
