Big Daddy

I heard a couple of pro scouts talking about Buchholz when he was at Angelina. Said he was not scouted as a pitcher out of high school because his Fastball was mid to high 80's. Angelina had a head coach that taught him a few things and as he matured his velocity increased to mid 90's. He was a special player both ways in High School but his time at Angelina is what really pushed him into an elite group. He was promoted to AAA Pawtucket Reds Sox a few days ago and we all wish him the best. I hope to be watching him on TV soon. Go Clay !

Jay Bruce ( Bmt Westbrook 2005) was promoted to AAA Louisville "Bats" today. He arrived in time to start in right field and bat 6th in the line up. He had the first hit of his AAA career in the bottom of the 6th inning ( solo Home Run ) and threw a runner out at the plate with a lazer from right field in the 7th. Game and video footage is on Milb.com Note: Clay Bucholz from Lumberton was also promoted to AAA Pawtucket.

Would someone post the schedule and results for the 18U Blast Gold team this week at Ford Park.....We would love to see them play! ( for that matter....Please post info for any local teams playing in the tournament )

Aaron Thompson Played with Jay Bruce and others @ Amelia little league he also played Babe Ruth, Connie Mack, and for Kelly high School. Drafted 2005 1st round by the Florida Marlins and in currently playing for the Greensboro Grasshoppers ( Low A ) in North Carolina. www.gsohoppers.com
