  1. Ok, maybe "volatile situation" is not the right word to use. Sorry. What I was referring to is the fact that the coaches from heat were so upset about us questioning that call. Then started mouthing stuff about Crush and how it is all technical when you play against Crush, and all the other little "comments" they were making from the dugout. Then said something to the effect of if we are playing so much by the rules then I needed to stay in the coaches box. The umpire called both coaches out and put all defensive coaches in the dugout and said all offensive coaches must stay in the boxes. That is what I was referring to, how the umpire handled that. And yes, it was a good game. Enjoyed it!! Just stay in our box! Hey Cheater......It was me mouthin' from the dugout. Just trying to teach your young Crush Rookies that if they want to dish it out, ( In a 12U pool game ) then they better be prepared to take it ! Truth is.....It was a very good game well coached by all 4 coaches on both teams. A lot of fun ! Maybe someday I will grow up. But I doubt it !
  2. I haven't been on this site for a while......I have been trying to dig my foot out of my mouth. I have been catching up on some of the posts that I have missed. I have really enjoyed this one....you guys are hilarious. You are also 100% correct. How boring it would be without you! Thanks for the Knowledge ??? and the Entertainment !!!
  3. Congrats Shockers !!! You can see what an accomplishment it is when you see some of the teams that didn't qualify ! Have fun in OK. and enjoy the ride.
  4. Try This Link..... Select these options : Tournaments / 7/18/08 / 18U / Texas [Hidden Content]
  5. bag.....you live in a fantasy world that i want no part of. Trout and GTS have done a super job and (IMO) are one of the few organizations in this area headed in the right direction. Good Luck to OCG .....and congrats Nederland on your state title run ! ( there.....you happy now bag )
  6. GTS Gold 2 and out. Did not play very well. The good thing is we can only get better from here just need to started sooner rather than later. We play in Stars over Texas next week and should get some different results. Pretty tough draw Trout.....Texas Travelers Gold, ( If I'm thinkin' of the correct team : ), have a pretty strong team. Keep the faith....and good luck in the SOT next week.
  7. ;D Sometimes I crack myself up... when it's funny, I just have to learn to laugh at myself too !!! ;D
  8. That's all I was trying to say......Thanks for the Help JT. I appreciate it !
  9. Thank you ! How 'Bout them Tigers ? I'm watching them play with the little white ball and they are on a mission. They pulled it out in the top of the 9th last night and not are putting a Tiger woopin' on those anteaters tonight. 21 to 7 top of 9th.
  10. Do you know BigDaddy ? Not sure....I'm not as familer with the coaches as I am with the organization and thier reputation.
  11. I checked the Texas Storm Website. They are now known as the Texas Storm (DeMarini) According to the website all of the 2008 Storm Gold players have committed to DIV 1 colleges and they have put over 40 seniors in Div 1 programs over the years. see for yourself [Hidden Content] This thread started with a post to try to get a couple of players for a extremely reputable organization playing in one of the top tournaments in the nation. I just wanted to let the less informed readers know the magnitude of this opportunity. Did not mean to get in a debate about numbers or coaches. I will file this under the heading " no good deed goes unpunished". I will continue on my way....doing what I know is best for my own daughter and realizing that some people will take advice and benefit from the experience of others,( who have had success ), and some with no real experience will continue to think they know it all.
  12. I might have learned just a little about recruiting when I went through it the first time. I have also learned that in Softball they start looking a lot earlier than in Baseball. I'm glad I found that out in time......for some it is too late.....that's sad! Ability + Commitment + Exposure = Softball Scholorship ( Academics help a ton too )
  13. The "32" 16U teams at the Longmount Complex had just as many Coaches as the Boulder Complex. I know I don't have to tell you RD that the 16U age group is becomming the "HOT Spot" for College recruiters. Good Luck to all .....See you there !
  14. Maybe I can clear this up. The Boulder Independance Day Tournament is played in three different locations. 80 teams play in Boulder Complex......32 teams play at the Louisville Complex....and 32 teams play at the Longmount Complex. 80+32+32 = 144 (2nd grade math). I was just going from memory of the 2006 numbers when I said 180 teams. I was wrong, I checked the website for 2007 and I should have said 144 teams. I was 36 teams off. Which only makes it better for the teams that get in. 180 or 144....the tournament is one of the toughest tournaments to get in to and it would be special for any team or player who is fortunate enough to be included. I was just trying to give my 2 cents worth to anyone who wasn't familar with the clout this tournament carries.
  15. Thanks for the Link....I did check my facts ! In fact I was at the tournament last year. 144 teams 342 College Coaches Registered ( Most Veterans can tell you alot of Coaches don't Register) 30 to 40 recruiters at most Games. Like I said..." You would be a fool to pass up this opportunity". (edit) Plus Texas Storm Gold and (Dixon) are a class act! I wish my kid was old enough.....I would jump all over this chance.
  16. The Independance Day Tournament is probably the second most attended, ( by college recruiters), tournament in the nation. (ASA Gold being #1) It is extremely hard to get into, ( almost impossible ). If you are able to play with this Storm Team and are interested in being recruited.... you would be a fool to turn down the opportunity. I think there were 180 teams there last year.

  19. Super post Robert, As kindly as I can say this........ I think your words are too deep for this shallow audience. I have been banging my head against this wall too. Some progress has been made with some people but the majority will never get it (and don't want too). I have my favorites and have tried to help them understand mainly because I feel that they have real talent. High School roots run deep in this area and it is a tough fight. The people that know you, RV, have the utmost respect and appreciation for you and what you have done and accomplished on several levels. Thank you for all your help, good will, advice, and training. (You have trained some pretty sharp folks) My daughters & I will continue to ask and benifit from your experience as long as you will let us.
  20. Nice article in the Beaumont Journal on Amelia Little League / Westbrook HS / Lamar University / Oakland Atheletic Bb Player LHP Derrick Gordon [Hidden Content] Derrick is a Super young man ! Keep it up Kid .
  21. Thanks Coach, for verifying my earlier post above. You said it with a lot more class. Very well worded !
  22. Mike Rutledge runs three teams out of the Kyle Chapman league. ( Red, White, Blue). He is extremely well connected and has one of the top programs in the nation. Kyle Chapman as well as the Houston Heat have won some pretty serious championships in the last few years but both programs are set up to showcase the players talent not so much to win championships. Heat hold tryouts every year and carries a lot of players on the roster. KC is by invite only and carries a smaller roster. Some local Kyle Chapman Players include : Aaron Thompson - Kelly (Marlins) , Collin Delome - Buna, Lamar, (Astros) - Knox McCorquodale - LCM, Arkansas, NW state, Local Houston Heat Players include: Jay Bruce - Westbrook (Reds), James & Micheal Ewing - Westbrook, Southern Miss. Just to name a few. ( I am sure there are some I have missed, I'm getting Old (er) ). There are other fine programs in the Houston and Golden triangle area but they don't quite have the National reputation these two teams have garnered.
  23. Just curious.....What summer team did / does Fazio play for ? Oh, by the way, 10,000 students apply to get into Rice University per year. They accept only 800 ! Nice Job Anthony.
