There's nothing wrong with Jasper that a little stability in the coaching revolving door won't change. No program can with stand the number of coaches and systems in a few short years that Jasper has had. Parents need to back off and quit second guessing what is going on. The new coach came from one of the proven winning systems in Texas. Give him a chance to implement some of this system.

Wildcat_In_Pink I don't think Newton is bigger than Kirbyville but I think Kirbyville is going to take this one, no sweat. Their winning tradition has got to show at some point and I think it starts now. Kirbyville by 14.

I'm simply calling you what you are, a cyber bully. You make no kind of predictions about your team yet want to be the first to jump in after the fact and spout off about the people that do believe in their team. We all know the predictions on here are nothing but personal feelings. You seem to slime around and wait until things have happened to jump up and berate everyone else about doing something you don't have the guts to do. Being one of the few that don't participate in rykerx's picks don't qualify you to talk down to those of us that do. I don't hold anything against the EC coaches, kids, or true fans. But you I have a problem with, not because your from EC but because you lack social skills and want to belittle all those around you, hence a bully. I've stood up to bullies all my life and your just another in that line. Over and out would be too good to be true.

Kevin may play. I think it is how things look for him in practice this week. Might be next week.

Woodville will have to face a Newton team that did not get the job done in EC and will be trying to make up for that. The other thing is it will be in Newton. Uphill battle for Woodville. Newton by 2 touchdowns.

For the record, EC coaches did a great job Friday night with the game plans on both sides of the ball. Their players did a very good job of executing those game plans. No sour grapes. EC took it to Newton on Friday night and have every reason to be proud. Good game and good luck. One "fans" stupid remarks should not take away from their accomplishment.

EC had just been hammered in a playoff game where Newton's second string played from the second quarter the rest of the game(and still scored 55) and you have continually brought up how classless it was for Coach Barbay to say in response to a question about how good he thought this Newton team was by saying he didn't know because we hadn't played anybody any good. EC that night wasn't any good and nothing can change that. He could have beat EC that night by 100 if he had wanted to. You seem more than willing to join us in a "classless" show of derogatory remarks about each town and haven't got faith enough in your team to make any predictions. Pretty low class to speak of a person who cannot defend themselves(dead). Go howl up another tree with all this classless stuff. I would take Coach Barbay's honesty anyday over your warped ideas of "class". By the way, EC played a very good game last night and took it to Newton. Good game to those kids. OK. You've changed my opinion. I'm over it. Silsbee has the greatest team ever, the classiest announcer, the finest stadium, cutest cheerleaders, the most knowledgeable fans that have the utmost modesty about their overall winningest program ever in Texas high school football history! I was very honored to have been allowed to even be in the presence of such greatness. What was I thinking? ;)

With the return of WT and the defensive play, Buna may be in for a long night. Newton takes this one.

Here we go again. Silsbee won the game and I have no problem with that. I've said that. The thread was about annoyances at a football game. I've been to hundreds of games and to me Silsbee has the most annoying PA announcer that I personally have ever heard. This is about an opinion and it can't be wrong. Enjoy the rest of the season with the winning Silsbee team. Just don't plug a mike in for the announcer ;D.

There are instances of a new coach and system that comes to a school and has instant success, but they are not the norm. An entire program, all the way from Jr. high , has to be implemented and given enough time for it to grow through to high school. Then a winning attitude has to be nurtured to be successful. This comes from not only the coaches, but the entire community, then it becomes "tradition".
