I think it seems like it because some of the young men that graduated last year have played skill positions the last couple years. I was at the Kelly Scrimmage and kelly looked good, we did not. Taylor is a good q/b , we got some talent at the wide out positions and Ogden is a good RB whenever they run it. Haynes Offense is going to score, well see about the defense.   But make no mistake about it if was a H-D vs Kelly Scrimmage the Bobcats wouldn't have faired any better. Hornets get the best of this one.
Being from neither HD, Hardin, or Kelly and having 2 of the 3 schools on our schedule, I saw this scrimmage and I think your giving Kelly too much praise and not taking enough away from Hardin. Kelly did not look all that great, the qb was throwing terrible passes but Hardin's secondary simply couldn't make a play, and Kelly's o-line was fairly small but the backs were able to make the defense miss, If the Bobcats can hit, I say they fair better against Kelly because besides the interior linebacker and running back position Kelly looked weak as well, it was just the fact that Hardin looked weaker, remember Kelly is a team who was winless in district last year.
That is correct.  The same Kelly team that went winless in their district last year, beat our district champs EC like a drum by three touchdowns. If you have both of us on your schedule, i'm guessing your from Liberty and if that's the case, then I hope y'all do better this year against them than last year.  Their district is like ours, tough every year ST. Pius, ST.Thomas.  But your write our defense looked bad and is going to need some major improvement real fast. I think Kelly will be quality team this year though, they have alot of seniors and the big receiver. Their QB did underthrow some balls that should have been picked. Were still talking about the first Scrimmage for both teams though. The Hornets our my team and i'm not ready to throw them under the bus after our first Scrimmage  8)

Looking forward to it.
Yes, here's my opinion.  Who the cares?
I would say, the young men that devote their lives to football, their family and friends, coaches, school staff, alumni. That's who cares. Be sure and tell us what distrct your in so when your district thread opens up we can get on and say who could possibly care about this district.  Get a clue
 11. There out at the Wal-Mart in Liberty.  Not so sure about the 2A Div. 1 Predictions.
 12.
Just wanted to say that the Rebels are 4-0 and they have been playing baseball for 9 days. When the Rebel football team went into the later raounds of the playoffs when they finished the basketball team was into tournament play and they had the opportunity to work their way into playing shape in a trial by fire kaind of way. The baseball team on the other hand has had to jump right into district play knowing that every game counts from the get go. This group of seniors most of whom have played all or part of their four years playing on the varsity have NEVER lost a district game! They have won 7 or 8 playoff games or series and have played longer than any other team in SETX into the season of two of the last three sports and the other just as far as any SETX team. There are five players that have been on all three teams that have made playoff runs this year, Tyler Tucker, Billy Nichols, Adam Stark, Deven Murphy and Kyle Taylor. Of the remaining players on the squad only one is a baseball only player so this group continues to be productive day in and day out. I am thankful for a tough game against Sabine Pass and hope that more games are competitive. Maybe then we will not hear the "weak district" stuff at least until next year, when I am sure that it will come up once again. The Rebels know they have work to do, but they just keep on winning and that is what the record will show as this year come to a close and the class of 2011 brings their high school careers to an end. We are all just hopeing that the final bell will end up with a state championship as the crowning achievement for a group of players who have given us all they have and so much enjoyment to watch and cheer for.
Good post. Wish all the best, for a fine group of young men.

 16.
Ana, be realistic now.... I would take the hardin kid easily over Mitchell, hardins lefty has a better curveball, better fastball, and pounds it with the inside fastball he's a better overall pitcher!!! If I'm scouting and looking at both pitchers and saw both of these kids pitching it's a no brainer who has the better overall stuff, Mitchell is good but he isn't better than hardin lefty..the lefty from hardin got pitcher of the yr as a freshman last yr for a reason!!!!He just has better overall makeup
I would have to say i agree. The poise that this kid shows at such a young age is very promising.  8) 8) 8)
 17. Hardin 17 Big Sandy 1 Big Sandy player hit in the face, with a line drive in the cages before the game, seemed to be quite an ordeal. Hope he's alright.  As for the game the Hornets were smashing the ball good effort.
 18.
i love how nobody really gives anahuac a chance :)
I predict it'll come down to Hardin and Anahuac. The hornets lost one senior from last years team, and brings alot of talent back. As does anahuac. Buna has had a great run of success over the last four years, that few teams can match at any level. But they lost alot of key players from last years team including some four year lettermen. This year District resides in Hardin.
 19. That's good to hear, hopefully your Coach there does have a handle on that. That kind of stuff is not good for any program. Looking forward to a good competitive  baseball season.
 20.
Hardin's going to have a solid team this year. Better than last year's playoff team. Buna always fields a quality team, not sure about the rest of 24-2A, and who they have coming back, the other playoff team in this district from last year was Anahuac. Heard kountz might be allright. ;D ;D ;D
If i remember correctly wasn't Kountz going through some tough times last year in baseball ,handful of players walked out of a game or something?  Anyone from kountz .

 22. This is crap, looks like they picked all the kids from just a handfull of schools.  How could you not have a single player from one of, if not the toughest 2-A District in Texas.    This is just the sports editor's version though. The real one should be annouced soon.  8)
