1. Nobody is comparing him to Jerry he's not even close - You ever wonder why Dayton limps a long every season for the last five years barely making the play-offs then all of sudden look like a contender at playoffs ? its because Jerry( hancocks baby-sitter) gets in the drivers seat and steers the team in the right direction with what he's left to work with, the last few years though he has lost interest and hasn't had as much input.Hancocks resume should have an asterisk on it that states : my coaching ability is totally contingernt on my babysitter Jerry being present .
 2. They gave him five years of respect ! He single handedly ran the program in the ground - nobody from the outside looking in is going to convince me different. No district championships, never made it past the second round, set the Guinness world record by loosing by 1-point three years in roll in the playoffs( sub-par play calling), never helped to promote his athletes for scholarship's ,verbally beat his team down to the point that a lot of good kids quit and even more refused to participate as long he coaches, inherited one the best defenses in the district and now were at the bottom, hadn't a clue on where to plug n play his players into what position( Shaq played QB against play-off team Ned and they had no answer for him- for his troubles he was placed on defense the rest of the year so not to make the other QB look bad again ) - refused to accept any help from the fans to help supplement financial aspects of the football program, equitment ect ( mostly liltex with a little help from, bronco pride, me and many others raised over $3000.00 for the booster club and he refused it and then did away with the booster club with the AD's permission ( now that's respect). I don't feel sorry for him one bit you reap what you sow .
 3. Where did I complain? no one ask you to make stuff up - Win ? Dayton has made the play-off's 20yrs straight ! how's your team doing ?
 4. This really wasn't directed to you but since you butted in give us your expert reason why you said "No" -
 5. Wouldn't it make more sense to have the "final rankings" after the first playoff round is done ? it would be a lot more credible -
 6.
Dayton fans need to quit whining.  So much complaining about who needs to play where.  Kind of silly.  You have a qb that's taking his first varsity snaps against two very good programs and all of a sudden the sky is falling.  Patience is a virtue.  Give the kids some time and let them develop. Scrimmages are for trying different players at different positions and getting reps in.  I'm glad Dayton didn't schedule powder puff opponents at the beginning of the season.  I would rather see a team struggle early on against solid competition and shine during district than fool everyone at the start and crumble later. Rant over.
Damn good "Rant" don't think it applies to many Dayton-fans per say but a damn good rant just the same !

 8. `Don't like playing these 5a teams to  big a risk factor for injuries were to young and our depth is never our strength. If we don't get blown out and show some improvment I'll be happy ! ( we beat them last year ) I'm just glad we don't have to play the Mexican National Champion like BH !
The street with all the holes in it? lol...
Unfortunately holes in the streets (not ho's) are a way of life in the crookest county(Liberty) in TX. 8)

 11. Is it AtomicDawg or DemDawg I get cornfused sometimes. Point in fact my wife and I were at the SC/KP game last year there were several KP drives SC couldn't stop. And on each drive your SC fans were dawging the heck out of the team and coaching staff, so don't pipe off on Dayton fans if there was a State championship for dissing your own team most of your 10,0000 fan base would win hands down. :) ;) :D ( don't say I wasn't at the game because there was a hat going around for donations for a young person who had experienced some tragic incident and I donated ) And please, please don't compare me to the Cowgirl fans that's hitting below the belt! ;D
good post liltex ,the Bronx coaching staff will milk every ounce of talent from our team and having them peaking for the play-off's. Were starting off good so far because in 2008 Friendswood beat us our first game and after that we marched straight to the State finals (past the second round  :'()
Don't quote me and I was even at the game - FW 28 ? Dayton 24 ?  anyway FW scored more points !
Thanks jayhawk...Two good programs that will always field good teams.  19-4A seems to have a good percentage of consistently good programs.
Yeah 19-4a isn't a cake walk anymore , it's going to be a dog-fight for a play-off spot this year ! Who is your team ?

 15. Liberty will surprise alot of people this year ! ;)
 16. Play of the game for me was when one of the many hikes over the FW QB head four or five Bronco's were with in inches of recovering the ball when out of nowhere the FW RB went bonzi-airborne and dove in the middle of the pile full speed  to recover the fumble ! My wife said hey we recovered that fumble and I said " you didn't see that silver streak"
 17.
I woke up today feeling good about what I saw last night. Dayton doesn't scrimmage teams like friendswood and Nederland so they can go up and down the field. They schedule them because they are very good we'll coached teams and will make dayton a better team. Dayton has at least 3 sophomores starting on the offensive line and they will get better every week. Dayton had to many penalties and dropped balls even for a scrimmage but those are things that can be cleaned up. Dayton's qb looked good especially if you consider he wasn't even the starter on jv last year. He has a good arm and will get better. He had his receivers drop several great passes including one that was a guaranteed td. Dayton's defense looked good other than a couple blown coverages. Dayton's dline has a junior at nose who will be a player and a sophomore at 3 tech who is going to be a stud. Didn't see much pressure on the friendswood qb but also didn't see any blitzing. It's kinda hard to put pressure on a qb rushing 3 men when you have 5 lineman blocking them. But im sure dayton will bring those linebackers more as the season begins. I think dayton will do fine and friendswood looked solid as usual.
Agree BP on Dayton blitzing more and that pays right into our LB's fast/athletic strengths. FW had at least half a dozen over the QB head hikes and I don't think we recovered one of them because the defensive line was slow to react after their blocking assignments but I'm sure that will be worked out.

Defense didn't put any pressure on FW's qb they stood around to much - way to many off side calls on the offense - we need a big back to loosen the middle up ( is Ruffin available ?) same old side line screen passes we been running for 17 yrs maybe as the season progresses we'll dust off a new play book. We got another show-case kicker again this year :) QB has a good arm and will improve every game wished he was bigger. Our WR's are fast and athletic and will carry the team if we mix things up a bit. Don't see us hanging with SC or Crosby and will have a hard time stopping O'Neal when we play BH, but who knows I've been wrong before and the season is young.
Just one quick note... dayton ran the wishbone (or some primarily running O) for the first several playoff years. Those screens or sideline passes came later. i definitely agree our receiving crew can be awefully good though. I think this group has a lot of upside IMO.
I was probably being a little to hard with my critique being the first scrimmage of the season. The bronco's are young and I do see them developing into a good team ,but we are young and not that big so we are going to have to work hard for every win!! I wish we would bring the wish-bone back and mix it in with our "spread offense" just to keep the other teams honest it also would allow more of the skill players more touches to run with the ball and be more involved with the offense. Grind it out on the  ground sometimes kill the clock and give out defense a rest !

 20. Done ! glad to help  :)
 21. I'm still trying to figure out how  SC lost to Mag W. anyway?  I don't know what the outcome for SC/Dayton will be this year ,but I promise you will see a completely different team than the one that laid down last year! I think it will be a good test for both team going onto the play-offs.(any chance Sharp will be sick that day )

 23. Life happens ! your not alone  this happens to families more than most realize. My nephew play football in east-tx  and turned down a full ride to OSU. He was 6'4 240 ran a 4'6 40 played WR & fullback was an all around athlete also excelled in baseball and basketball . Believe me I tried to get him to move in with me so he could play for Dayton but Dad wouldn't sign off on it. His dad took him to all the camps every year since his youth Emit Smith in Dallas (football) Larry Brown Kansas (basketball ) ect... His future was bright and everyone was excited except him !  Quite frankly he was burnt out and was ready to do what ever instead of everybody living vicariously through him.
