Shepherd beat Tarkington 12-8 Big improvement from last week for the Horns.

They play Tarkington next week, were liable to make Huffman look not as bad lol. We can’t stop the run. Our D settle in late in the game and made some good stops but the damage was done. Take away the stupid penalties and costly turnovers and that game last night is much different. But not gonna pretend like Shepherd isn’t going to beat us next Friday lol.

Game over. 45-7 NW

NW drives another one in. 45-7 NW, end of Q3

NW received the kick, drives down for a FG. 38-7 NW

Halftime 35-7 Bulldogs

NW in the endzone again. Very chippy game so far. 35-7 NW, mid Q2

Another NW TD. Bulldogs have everything working. 28-7 NW, early Q2

NW turns short field position into 7. Both teams are getting frisky and several questionable flags. 21-7 NW

NW takes 2nd possession in for a TD. 2 pt conversion is good. 14-7 NW

Longhorns recover fumble, long drive for the TD. Messy but got the job done. 7-6 Tarkington

Longhorns fumble opening kickoff. NW drives in for TD, PAT blocked by Horns. 6-0 NW

Good to hear! The Horns looked good last week. Will be a much different team, may catch some teams off guard. Coach Howard has these boys ready!

The post was less about HD and more about Tarkington’s improvement. Didn’t matter who they played the past couple years, they got embarrassed.

Watched the Tarkington-Hull Daisetta scrimmage tonight. First look at the new Longhorns. New offensive and defensive schemes, lots of passing by the Horns offense. Scored each time they touched the ball. HD was not able to move the ball much against our defense. Very impressed by this coaching staff, they have given these boys the confidence they lacked the past few years. Definitely not gonna be the Tarkington everyone is used to seeing.

Hoping for some improvement at least for Tarkington, for sure can’t do worse.

Gold is back on the prairie! Thank you Coach Howard! Go Horns!

Jake Taylor back at Tarkington

There you go, chalk it up to offseason boredom lol

This feels like an “argument for arguments sake” topic.

Ahhh the age old question, is the coach or the players? Seems to me the actual answer is somewhere in between…
