2. Shepherd responds with KO Return for Td. Pat missed. 20-15 4:59 2nd Quarter. Onside kick attempt by Shepherd is recovered. Shepherd Ball.
 3. Shepherd 14 Huffman 15 5:18 left in the 2nd. Sounds like a good one!

 5. It wasn't. Shepherd put Tarkington away pretty early. And he may not be a Heisman candidate they did get back their top receiver who's been injured all season. He had a pretty good game for his first game back.

Huffman could upset CS, the defending District Champs, but until they do it'll be this way. Liberty gave up 28 points to Splendora in their win last week and Cleveland didnt allow not a single point this week against them.Liberty will have to throw the ball a lot but Cleveland's secondary is too quick and if they try to run the ball all game like they did against Huffman they'll really get killed.Deel has to run more than the few number of plays he's running.   Some believe the players give up early in the game, well so do the coaches. The play selection proves this.I really feel for some of these players. The comment that Liberty has no D1 players is unfortunatly true but thats not the fault of the players that had D1 potential.I believe that a couple of these players would've had a decent chance had they been under another program.Daniel Fitzwater is a good example of this. His parents moved him where he had a better chance to be noticed. With the numbers he's putting up he is being noticed.Had he stayed at Liberty no school would even be looking. And I dont want to hear from any Liberty or Fitz haters that he's not being looked at because he is.FACT.Im not saying offers Im saying scouts.Looking and offers are different. Anyway,Liberty will get 4th at best if they dont get the big head and think they can beat Tarkington, those cowpokes are getting hungry for a district win.
I've been trying to stay off this website since Liberty is so bad and I'm a fan and don't want to get heated, but I was just appalled over and over again with the "no d1 players comment' you guys don't know our players. Omar Tebo is 300 pounds and runs under 5, he won state in power lifting, heavyweight division, I'm close friends with a former Liberty players who currently plays offensive line for Texas State University (D1 WAC) and he played with Tebo for a year or two and has no doubt in his mind that Tebo could keep up with him and his teammates. Omar isn't receiving letters anymore, he's receiving phone calls, and personal visits and some coaches have come out to watch him play/practice. He's an outstanding young man, smart, stays on his grades, and has a great family that makes sure he's on top of his game, he is polite and he happens to be an athlete. He has all the characteristics to make it to the next level then add in his size speed and strength and you would be considered ignorant for saying he won't go division 1. That's all I have to say about that topic for those of you from Huffman or wherever the heck your from thinking your some type of division 1 recruiting analyst, I'm no analyst myself but I've seen with my own eyes recruiters showing extreme interest in Omar, so have a nice day everyone.
Tebo got 6th in state he didn't win. Still really good though. He's a really good player no doubt and might have the talent to play d1. The thing that could hold him back is his height. College coaches, especially D1 care alot how one player looks, ie their height.

We will see come Friday night. Kountze wins!
Actually with the exception of corrgin..they haven't
New Waverly would beat any opponent y'all have played to date. And EC will beat Kountze. The worst team Wville has played is Shepherd. We were in positions to beat CC and New Waverly. Both of which would beat any team Kountze has played so far.
Lol that's funny because Shepherd beat the wheels off New Waverly in their scrimmage and also beat Diboll thoroughly who beat CC 26-14. It's all about matchups and who comes better prepared when teams Like Kountze and Woodville play. Neither team is that much more talented/ better football team than the other so this one could go either way.
LOL. Kountze has more talented players, trust me.
I think so too. Shepherd played much better ball against Kountze than they did against Woodville. I know the only thing that counts was the score after their game, but i atill believe shepherd is the better team of the two, just not that night. Kountze definitely seemed more impressive from the stands.

I see Diboll running up the score on Shepherd tonight.. & that's bad.
Ouch. I don't really see it as a upset. Maybe a small one? Shepherd always plays diboll close even when diboll has been a much better team. and this years team just keeps getting better week in and week out. They may give coldspring a scare, who knows?? Proud of those Pirates.
Your right, Shepherd does always seem to give Diboll fits. Not to take anything away from your victory tonight, but I do not think Shepherd or Diboll is on the same level as Coldspring right now. Of course anything could happen in high school football, but I believe the Pirates have a long ways to go before they are ready to take down the Trojans. Good luck the rest of the season!!
Hey, after the LCM loss and the rollercoaster play of CS this last few weeks, anything is possible.  Yes, CS should roll over everyone in district except Huffman, and I now see Huffman's chances of beating CS rising.  But, if I had to bet, my money would still be on CS.
I agree. But If the wrong CS team shows up Shepherd is good enough to take advantage and could walk out with a win. The score is wrong though, it was 35-14 final. J/s

I am a little more confident in Kountze's chances to compete in district after seeing how Shepherd did against Woodville.
Shepherd played much sloppier against woodville than they did against kountze.
Could Woodville have caused some of that sloppiness?
Hmmm someone on this thread does use their head  ::) Woodville's chaotic and fast-paced defensive style caused this sloppiness seen by Shepherd.
Kountze is a heck of alot faster on d than woodville not bias just stating the fact
Woodville's coverage was better.
 15.
I think CMurder75 was refering to all the penalties Shepherd had not their play. Shepherd had a ton on flags thrown on them. But that was no excuse Woodville just beat us. Shepherd has to learn how to win.
That's all I'm saying. Not trying to take anything away from Woodville. They won and that's all that matters. I was just trying to add to the conversation. Penalties and silly passes that get intercepted. Yes Woodville's D helped cause them. But it's not like they couldn't of been avoided. If Shepherd wants to win football games they have to find ways to avoid making those mistakes.
One of the biggest problems is a lot of guys are out of shape.  Especially on the offensive line.  I don't where this theory of cutting every play came in, but it has to go.  Against a quick athletic defensive like Navasota u can't cut them u have to stay on ur feet and put a body on them.  Our defense looks good are offense needs a lot of help.  Whoever said about the Kirbyville game a few years a go is right on point.  I really felt we could beat them and with that loss the teams mind got right.  My hope with this loss these guys get serious and practice harder and get themselves in shape.  I don't believe Navasota is that much better than us.  I believe if we play like we are capable that we can beat them.  These kids need to get it going.
They lose one game to a very good navasota team and y'all go off screaming at the scheme barbay has had forever. Backside always cuts. Coldsprings has always cut like that.
 18.
Shepherd kountze is pulling for yall!
Thanks for the support. Shepherd needs to learn to win close ones. 22-30 Woodville. Game over.
