2.

Deep? Well, lets just say most of Warren's bench could start for Buna or anyone else in this district. All I can say is rest Clark well. He is all that stands between Buna and a 10 run rule. But, go ahead, overlook Warren, like Buna did Deweyville, or Kountze. Count on "tradition" to put runs on the board. Then wonder what happened when it is all over. It will be a good game, hard fought, most regime changes are. A new tradition start Friday!! GO WARRIORS!!!
ok goin a little far to say everyone on the Warren bench could start on any team in the district lol let's not get to carried away..
I know they have some real depth on Varsity on the bench, but may have been exaggerating a tad. I do however agree that there is a 'changing of the guard' coming. It may not happen in this game, but it is coming.
 3.
I hate to say I told ya not to overlook the Warriors so I won't.The first game was nearly dead even thru 6,Warren stranded a ton of runners and made a few costly errors late. This should be a dandy.Lets go Warriors.
Right there with you whsalum, I've known a while these guys are here tonplay and win
 4. Great job Warren. You've got great coaches and are playing I knew y'all could. Keep it up guys
 5.
Baseball does not even have an official scorer. When baseball makes the money football is reported to be making (which is open to debate), things will change.
That's my point.....
 6. Who would be the "official" counter of pitches? I'm sure both teams would keep a pitch count on the other, but there would have to be an official that strictly counted pitches to ensure accuracy without prejudice.
 7.
How many jobs are being cut at TEA?? With so many teachers losing their jobs, they don't need a big staff in Austin. Just saying.
I heard they are doing cuts as well, not sure on the numbers though.

THE KEY THING IS REST AFTER  And duringThere are things a kid can do to prevent injury... ice and run.... these will get the acidity out of his muscle that causes damage...
Rest after and During.  Again its not necessiarily the over all total number of pitches thrown during the game.  Examine how the pitcher gets to that number. Pitcher A                                              Pitcher B 1. 16                                                   1. 30 2. 17                                                   2. 28 3. 20                                                   3. 32 4. 15                                                   4. Pulled from game 5. 16 6. 15 7. 16 pitcher A throws a total of 115 pitches, a high volume yes.  Pitcher B is pulled before he reaches 100.  Pitcher B is working much longer innings and probably getting shorter rest between half innings.  Less focus should be put on the final product of a pitch count and more on how a player arrives at that total.  If your team is not spending alot of time hitting each inning then your pitcher is getting less down time and is going to tire faster.
good points
 9. At Leander ISD, Austin area, they are cutting 213 teachers. I found that out yesterday. Blows my mind. There are more than one high schools there, but still, 213
 10. hitman is right about the Lamar practice. Pitchers do their running and do tarp work the day after they pitch. However, there is very very little effort in the throwing and its focus is mechanics and feel. Is there soreness, yeah, but if there is "hurt" the player needs to speak up. However, There is a difference in the average collegiate pitcher and average high school pitcher. The collegiate "should" have better mechanics, more developed strength/stamina, and more maturity. They also get to have "Baseball only" coaches,year-round, who have a closer relationship to the athlete, and put them through off-season workouts, drill, and practices. You can't really expect the average high school pitcher to be as developed and there does need to be a few more restrictions. I still believe though, that there isn't a definitive number to go by. Yes, if they are above 100, there needs to be a watchful eye and have relief ready. As I said earlier, the coach needs to know their pitcher and recognize if they are getting tired and be ready to make a change. Whether it's before or after 100
It was both.... You can throw Andy Dewey's name in there also.
I agree EAGLE07, I think we had this discussion before. I also agree with what someone said earlier, you have to take care of your pitchers arm, ice, stay in shape, etc.. but I will still say that High School kids shouldn't be throwing 100 + pitches no matter what. Also, I know their are alot of good coaches out there but don't leave it up to them to take care of your kid.
Really? So parents... Go keep a pitch count and take your child off the field when they get to 100 pitches. How about trust the coach or take your kid off the team.

I would never want athletics to be cut, there are too many positives. I played sports and understand the good, but I don't understand needing an incentive to pass. Why can't a student just want to be a good student and complete there high school education?
Because we live in the real world and some kids just need that motivation.
So what motivation are 'those' kids going to have to get through college? Especially the 95% who don't play college athletics?  They really need to be able to pass because they want to do well, not because they won't play if they fail. How about parents, college, careers, where is that motivation? Or are we basically saying, "Man I can't wait to get to school where I can barely squeeze by just to be able to play my sport." Sounds lazy to me

The post saying it was called because of lighting was at 9:10. That is way to early to give up on the night. It is leagal to play till midnight I thought. I bet Lumberton's coach was going crazy about being sent home down only 4 runs.
Yep, in a game that is called early, for whatever reason, had it been allowed to continue, the team that is behind always stages a comeback and wins. The team in the lead never widens the gap.
Im sure both happen. Im also sure you would have a different opinion had it been your team denied the chance to come back.
a very different opinion. If Lumberton would have been up and game had been called, Nederland fans would have to umpires strung up and been complaining about how much they were wronged.

 15.
In my opinion a pitch count is nothing more than a guide to go by.  What is right for some, may not be right for all.  It all depends on the player.  Some player's are in better shape (pitching shape) than others.
agreed... I don't believe in a definitive number, pitch count is relative. Once their mechanics start to falter, or they begin "overthrowing" to compensate for tiredness, time to come out. To be honest, no matter the pitch count, if the pitcher is maintaining proper mechanics and not really showing signs of fatigue, no reason to pull him.  A good coach learns their pitchers, knows their mechanics, and understands when a pitcher is nearing their limit. However, overusing a pitcher is a completely different story. If a pitcher goes out and starts for 4-7 hard innings, he should not start, and possibly not relieve on Friday(circumstantial-relief). You have to give their arm sufficient time to rest.
 16.
I'm sure he was thinking, "I'm up 12-0, maybe I can get another kid a little experience".  He might even have thought, "it's just a JV game and there is no real championship here, and no playoff implications".    He probably even thought," even if we give up a few, this high powered team will score plenty more".   The negativity over a jv game THAT YOU WON, is amazing.
agreed.... last I remember, JV is about the players getting better striving for a win. If you win, congrats, if you lose, fix your mistakes and do better; but no one really cares who wins JV or even sophomore games for that matter. I would be embarassd if a couple years down the road you bragged, "Man, we were unstoppable on JV!" Let the man coach all his players, not just the starters.
 17. Hmmm wouldn't say that it's a fact he's pitched this year. And Josh threw hard. Consistent 86-87, maybe not, but it was low-mid 80s consistent for sure
 18. Warren is going to keep playing well and continue to "surprise" teams. It's not a surprise to those close to Warren though. I'll say this, the other teams better be ready for Warren. They have a strong young core (many sophomores) and are only going to get better.
 19. [Hidden Content] Just checked out this page. A lot of ways to interpret the rule
 20.
I know that if the starting pitcher is removed from the mound but stays in the game at another position that he can return as the pitcher later because PNG did that last night.  I also know that if a starter is removed from the game that he can be re-inserted later.  Now I am wondering if the starting pitcher is removed from the game if he can re-enter the game later as the pitcher.
No, if he leaves the game and is no longer a part of the line-up, he cannot re-enter as a pitcher
 21. When you lose there are always "if this would(n't) have happened, then....." It's a part of the game. I think both teams made the same amount of errors on the line score at the game, except for PNG took advantage of the E4(their 4th) in the 7th and passed ball(which is an error but wasn't counted - fifth), to get the score tied at 5. So i'm thinking blaming errors is irrelevant
 22.
He also did not go to the bathroom he "went" behind the dugout with a softball game going on behind him
That's hilarious.. I'm guessing before the inning in his mind was "I think I can hold it till the end of the game  :-\...." Not so much though.  ;D
